When you have a cursor in a posting box and you decide instead to leave the page instead of post. The keyboard command which allows me to modify the location in the location bar of the browser is overwritten by some shortcut feature of the forum software which overrides the shortcut I am trying to use.

In my case I am on a mac. "cmd-l" (i believe ctrl-l on non macs) will allow you to type in a new URL. However here it changes to some weird text

hello this is normal text and this is the text that gets set with cmd-l

Would be nice to either change the shortcut system wide on the forum, or at least give the users a way to change/disable these shortcuts if they choose not to use them.

So you're talking about the subtext when the editor is focused?

Normal
Subtext

That's what CTRL-L does on Windows...

AH, it doesn't retain the formatting anyway.

I don't see the benefit in keeping this shortcut, I've removed it from the code base and merged a new version on the production server. The CTRL-L shortcut now goes back to the URL/Address bar.

Thanks.

(It's a bit more intensive to extend the code to allow people to have their own shortcut mappings, this is a easy or what I'd like to call a bandaid fix for now.)
