Once, endless ages of man ago when I was in my early 20s, while on a long sojourn across the US West in a covered wagon (ok, ok...a station wagon, but it had a roof!), my traveling/sex partner and I stopped late one night for some doggie style fun on the edge of a cliff looking out over the desert at a rising crescent moon. It was pretty damn awesome and surely one of the most memorable venues in which I've ever done it. It was hard to resist the urge to howl!

The terrain looked vaguely like that shown in the image (taken from the internet somewhere) below.

So, yeah, it is a good position if you both want to look at the same thing.
