Erotic services section removed from Craigslist?

Ive been using craigslist for a couple of months for finding some cute girls in both the erotic services and casual encounters section as well.

Surprisingly this morning I found out that erotic services section has been removed from the site. Does anyone know wether there is another section which is used by the girls from now on?

Wow! They finally did it. :( I didn't think the lawsuits were going to effect the foreign Craigslist listings. Hopefully the working girls are smart enough to choose another section... like "misc romance". :confused:

My oh my, what will the craigslist ladies do now? There rarely ever were any really ladies of quality on there.

...and nothing was lost. (comes to mind)
 
As I assume you all (in Tokyo) know, CL removed its Erotic Services sections across the US a while back (a few months ago?) in response to requests/threats from a group of state attorney generals. In the NYC area and, I think, a bunch of other places, the relevant sections of http://www.backpage.com/ soon became the main replacement for CL-ES. However, backpage does not have much international coverage and none at all in Japan, or even Asia, it appears.

Something else will probably come along soon to replace it in the Tokyo market soon enough.

Personally, I never used CL and pretty much agree with Kias, although I'm told that there were occasional gems to be discovered if you spent enough time and effort digging them out.

I had kept up with the news in the U.S. about Craigslist. Most of us here knew what was happening but kind of figured that they would leave it alone for the international scene.

If we had the time, we'd put together something to replace it. If nothing pops up to replace it, maybe it will come up in discussion again during one of our planning meetings.

Our focus is this site and only this site right now.

As for the quality of ladies on Craigslist, hit and miss, with a lot of misses is how I look at it.

Recently, I have heard that a plan is in the works to bring something similar back for use, at least for Japan.

Don't have any more specifics than that, just yet anyway.

There are few gaijin friendly escort establishments around Tokyo area
but most of them are not very recommendable.
I trust [TAG] and [Tokyonights] only since I never had really
good experience from other english website places inc craigslist.
anyway you have come to the right place though :)
 
Short update:

There was another site in planning, but they've hit some legal snags. It's a little more complicated than just slapping together an anonymous classified ads site. Nobody wants to deal with legal issues, people are feeling the butt-burn from CL pulling out.

Still, stay tuned here and we will post further information as it becomes available.

Update on post #14 - That post was edited by Chris (TAG Manager).

Basically, it was another review/comment site that had been inactive as of last week. They were showing a GoDaddy parking page. I guess they added a classified section and opened that site back up.

Many of the erotic massage services in the US moved to the therapeutic page. This happened also in the UK but the present situation in the UK CL is strange as on each day in January the present day entries on the therapeutic page are deleted that night or on the next day. However there are still several 100 entries for December 19 and before! In the UK a number of other services are now taking ads for erotic services as well as the usual classifieds.

I live in the US but visit Japan at least twice a year and go to the UK almost every month. I hope that a listing for Japan is extant soon!
 
It sucks big time, people try posting the casual encounters but always gets flagged !! I hope they bring it back or an alternative is created.

What about the Japanese BBS sites, I only know of one called happy mail, but there must be some other good legititimate ones that people in Japan use. I know alot are scams but surely they can't all be
