Just watched E1 of Netflix Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On. This episode focuses on female producers/directors of porn. One of the stars, extensively featured, is Erika Lust (no relation to me.) She’s clever and very entertaining to watch.

Her point is that a female eye does porn differently. Her target audience is clearly other females. What do you ladies say, is there really female porn? How is it different? Is it hot?

Ooooh, I love Erika Lust! I like the chemistry that the actors have in her movies. It just seems more real and natural than the usual porn with over-the-top acting.

I watched the other documentary (Hot Girls Wanted) and it seemed too negative for me. I also didn’t think that inexperienced girls straight out of high school were the best people to interview when it came to porn. Then again, who wants to watch a documentary on sexworkers who actually enjoy working in the industry? (sarcasm)

Since Erika is in this new series, I assume “Turned On” would be more positive. Is it worth watching, in your opinion?

Absolutely. I have so far only watched episodes 1 & 2. Very different stories. E2 is about Tinder and online dating. Fascinating. After watching the male protagonist, you can really ask yourself, what does social media do to us.

And yes, it’s porn positive. Both Erika and the other female director (forgot her name), who inherited the business from her mother, love porn. They just want to make it better.

I can't speak for everyone of course, but imo most porn you see these is definitely made for men. A good chunk of it is just men basically doing stuff to women, and even when taking into account that porn shouldn't be taken as real life, a lot of what's going on does not actually seem enjoyable from my point of view. I can get entertainment from it of course, but I do definitely get the feeling that it's not made for me.

Ooh I forgot to add!

I really do like female-focused porn for the reason that (as hana said), it feels more natural and real to me! And when I can believe that the girl is genuinely enjoying herself, it's way easier for me to *ahem* enjoy myself too :)

I don’t really watch porna or anything.
But for personal turn ons, i like porn in which the body and the face of the guy are show a lot (especially if the male actor is turning me on of course), which is not that common in porn thats aimed at straight men.

Of course it is. Because men are willing to pay to see strangers have sex on their TV screens.

haha! You dont think women are willing to pay to see strangers have sex on TV?

Paying to watch sex.. on TV.. in 2018? :p

In all seriousness, I’ve paid for clips before to support my friends in the indie porn industry and once paid for a month subscription to a website that catered to a specific fantasy of mine.. so it’s not just men who pay for adult content.

Well, TV here was meant to be understood as "the big screen where you can see all the action very well". And I do agree nobody in 2018 should be paying for porn, there is so much freely available.

But there still exist some dinosaurs that do pay for porn and almost all of them are male. If that was not the case then they would be plenty of willing entrepreneur minded people shooting porn for women. After all they use the same money as the males do and there would be many people ready to take that money.

I was obviously joking.

I, on the other hand, am always dead serious when writing to TAG. :p

I was paying for porn when you still needed to buy it from post catalogues from USA. Nowadays I have found out it is much better to support your favourite girls by paying them directly for performing the acts with you.

I mean with a bit of DIY you can save the salary of the male actor, right?

I have watched it before, and I have a few female stars that I am fans of their scenes, Sinn Sage for one, she proves that scissoring when done right can be enjoyable. Then there is a short haired redhead that is being shown with a lot of other known female talent even though she is a lesbian and is growing in popularity.

I am currently on a Glamcore fetish run right now. It seems to be more focused on the pleasure derived from the individuals in the scene and not just the male talent. It's couple fucking essentially.

Thanks for the heads up on this Netflix series. Watching ep1 right now - Suze and Holly Randall - two of my favorite photographers. :)

Thanks Lars, will check this out. For me porn is just something I watch free on YouPorn for a few minutes just as hmmmm... purely intellectual interest of course. But interested in the serie you mentioned.

Not sure if you already know, but there is a Japanese site aimed towards girls called girls-ch(ガールズシーエッチ) that has videos with ikemen in them. Feels different from regular JAV.

I think X Confessions fill here, isn't it?

By the way, for a short time I worked in with a very small production company. Actually, almost everyone were friends. The director was a girl, but really it was more like "natural" sex: usually real couples being filmed, or feiwnfr having fun.

Somehow it fell very "feminist" in a way.

Too bad at the end it didn't work :(

Can you tell me (private msg) witch site that you paid for the specifc fantasy

it’s not just men who pay for adult content.

Since adult content is a business first and foremost, issues of demographics of actual customers is very important. Even "now" that there is less stigma about women enjoying adult content the actual market of women who will pay is very small it seems.

This of course creates a negative circle. Less market means less female oriented porn gets produced.
