Food / restaurant app in Japan

in US there is Yelp, where you can search for food or restaurant in a specific area. is there any app or website similar to Yelp in Japan for iPhone?

Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but a pretty useful thing that I use all the time is ロケスマ ... no English version, and it doesn't give reviews or ratings or anything, but you can use it to find restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc etc.

It only has chain type stores in it basically though. It's useful if you hop by a station and are like "I need something" - you click the "top 100 food" and it'll show all the chain stores around you with business hours, etc.


It's the closest thing I can think of other than opening google maps and searching for genres.

If you can read japanese, i think tabelog is japan's equivalent to yelp.
