Whenever in NYC, my go-to spots for excessively meaty, mile-high sandwiches were Carnegie Deli and Katz’s Delicatessen.
One of my favourite films in the 80s, Broadway Danny Rose, was shot at Carnegie Deli.

Sarge’s Deli in Murray Hill serves decent Reuben and other meaty sandwiches and is not flocked by tourists like Katz’s...

I was in Katz’s this summer. The Star in midtown and Juniors off broadway are both still there.....
