To the best of my knowledge, this was probably the first English-language Soapland report posted by a gaijin to any forum. ASP was linked to the original World Sex Guide.

The Japanese gentlemen referred to in the report posted a guide to fuzoku in Tokyo; it wasn't an actual report. Also, at that time, Tokyo Topless included a how-to guide to Soaplands. I sent a Thank You e-mail to them, but didn't receive a reply.

[ASP] Tokyo, Japan - Soaplands in Yoshiwara
z_direwolf@anon.nymserver.com

I cannot help but feel that some of my fellow ASP Comrades might be at least a little skeptical regarding my past posts about Tokyo's Fashion Health Clubs. I discovered from personal experience that some of the information posted to ASP and the WSG is not completely accurate.

Personally, I feel disappointed when I read that our brethren have been turned away from the front doors of some of my favorite shops in Roppongi and Shibuya. I have benefited from ASP and the WSG; and I want to return the favor by sharing information.

In any event, I believe that I have "cracked the code" and found a neighborhood where our fellow foreign ASP Comrades can drastically increase their chances of admittance -- Tokyo's traditional Red Light district (400+ years old) known as Yoshiwara. Yoshiwara is basically in Senzoku 4-chome. The closest station is Minowa on the Hibiya line.

I visited Yoshiwara where I patronized a real Soapland for the first time. I found the shop I visited, ARENA, through a post to ASP by a Japanese gentleman [formerly known as toky...@aol.com]. Many thanks to whomever you are. The total cost at Arena -- Y100,000 -- is a bit on the pricey side. However, this session was worth raving about. Arena is reputed to be one of the best Soaplands in Japan.

The procedure with the better Soaplands is that you have to telephone to reserve an appointment. Most Soaplands start taking reservations at around 12:00 noon and operate from 1:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. I telephoned, later to phoned to confirm and telephoned from the train station in order to have their driver pick me up and drive me to their shop. This is standard procedure.

When I first saw my girl's picture, I wasn't bowled over. She was the only "foreigner service" girl on duty that day, so I went for her. Still, she looked "nice" when we were introduced. When she took off her clothes, she looked like an absolute angel. She had a flawless facial complexion; pristine creamy white skin; eyes like a doe; and the mannerisms of classy young lady [Ojo-sama in Japanese]. She wasn't as tall as other girls and her breasts were on the small side, but she was sheer perfection otherwise.

My two-hour session was relaxed. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. She poured me several beers as we talked and got to know each other. Eventually we took off our clothes and went over to the washing area. After she gave me a thorough scrubbing, we made our way to the bed. Hand-holding led to stroking, then petting and kissing. After I gave her a neck-to-toe tongue bath, she returned the favor.

After I became sufficiently excited, I encountered difficulty in entering her. Despite the fact that her pussy had become quite wet during foreplay, the size difference presented a stumbling block. A quick dab of KY in a few right places and I slowly slipped it in. As this seemed to be quite a unique experience for my girl, I continued to work my way in slowly.

After about one minute I was up to the hilt. I took my time and gradually increased the rhythm. After awhile, she started gushing her own juicy natural lubrication which enabled me to penetrate as deeply as possible. Still, I took my time because I didn't want to injure this sweet girl. When I came, it was a profound experience. At that point, it felt so good and she was so incredibly tight, I was worried that the condom had been ripped
to shreds. When I pulled out, much to my relief, I saw the condom intact. I think she squeezed a week's worth of juice out of me, otherwise I would have gone for Round Two.

We cuddled. I drank beer; she drank soda. We talked awhile longer. The session wound-down to a nice conclusion. In general, it was one of my three best paid sexual/sensual experiences during 20+ years of pursuing "the hobby."

Okay, many of you might say Y100,000 for two hours is a bit pricey. I agree. I do not want to spend that much on regular basis [although I intend to go back to that shop]. With that in mind, I decided to investigate further.

When I left ARENA, I passed-up on their complementary ride back to the station and went for a stroll around the neighborhood to conduct research for future trips and for our ASP comrades. As I was already quite satisfied, I was not concerned about getting rejected.

In baseball terms, I batted about .400 in getting positive feedback. Several shops, ranging in prices of Y22,000-to-Y60,000, said they accept foreigners. Others said outright that they didn't accept foreigners. Others said they would accept foreign customers if they were accompanied by Japanese men. Some touts ready to accept foreigners wanted to immediately escort me to their shops, but would not provide their business cards.

I now have a list of a least six shops although I only walked around for about 30 minutes. It was hot & humid and my session at Arena had left me drained.

Yoshiwara is an incredible neighborhood. About 98% of the businesses in block-after-block seem to be Soaplands. It's like Geylang in Singapore but much higher class. It is also much nicer than Kabukicho, where one finds lower-ranking yakuza [chimpira] who can be troublesome at times.

Yoshiwara is the place to go, if you have time and the money. In recent discussions with some ASP comrades regarding the matter of increased gaijin acceptance at some shops, and in Yoshiwara in particular, two prominent theories have emerged. One, the economic downturn is forcing some shops to accept gaijin. Two, ASPers have to be thorough and look in the right places; sometimes we get lucky. It would be nice to see more posts with specific information on those successful visits.

Below please find the information that I uncovered regarding other foreigner-friendly shops in Yoshiwara [all of them are close to each other]:

*Mink; 3875-6601 [Y61,000]
Starship; 3873-3939 [Y60,000]
Studio V; 4-41-16, Senzoku; 3875-3094
**Pin Pon; 4-48-5, Senzoku; 3872-2628 [Y22,000]
**Liberty; 5603-0551

* Mink is part of a three-shop chain.
** Liberty & Pin Pon are right down the street from Arena.

It was an awesome First Time. It exceeded my expectations.

Very interesting. Do any of the shops you found back then still exist in the same name?

You did not get to try mat play on your first soapland visit?

I didn’t experience Mat Play at that first-ever session. My assigned girl told me that she wasn’t skilled at Mat Play. It was okay because she looked like a gorgeous receptionist from Otemachi.

My second-ever Soapland session was at Starship, when I was assigned Akiyama-san. She introduced me to the Joys Of Killer Mat Play. To me, Akiyama-san represented the epitome of Soapland Monster Fuck. Akiyama-san had a plain face, but a well-toned body like a martial arts instructor. Her sessions were wild, and, time permitting, she finished sessions a killer hard shiatsu massage.

During another session at Starship with huge-breasted JAV girl 大久保 あおい (Ohkubo Aoi), she recommended Aqua Palace, Continental Club Gucci and American Cheer Girl. I think some of those Soaplands are still in business.

ARENA is now Kelly Hills, but the website says it’s for Japanese only....perhaps things were better back then as it was still in the period before deriheru eat up some of the market share of soaps.
Your theory makes a lot of sense. Back then, Deli Health shops were not to be found in the various magazines, such as Manzoku. Instead, Out Call Seikan Health used to drop fliers into mailboxes. I rolled-up quite collection and I scanned them before I left Japan. I'll find those scans and post them on TAG.

Don’t know why they would be more accepting of foreigners when they didn’t have deliheru competition. If anything, it would mean they had more customers than now so they would not have to try to branch out to the mysterious foreigners and risk misunderstandings.

The recent upcome of syphilis from mainland China tourists may be a more likely reason.

It's based on my guess that the root culprit behind "Japanese only" in Yoshiwara may be some Japanese clients who've been pressuring shops and girls to be "Japanese only". They were probably a small minority when there were way more clients coming to Yoshiwara. Shops could just ignore them back then. Even if they wouldn't repeat, others would. I suspect that their voice became somehow influential since the soaps lost many clients to deriheru, and some shops succumbed to it.

I think recently there is much more money to be made from wealthy Asian foreigners who enjoy JAV and wanna try soapland than from the conservative J crowd who does not want foreign men doing their girls.
But i indeed think that its the conservative crowd who would stick to soaplands instead of hopping to delivery health.
