Hello,

I am going to Japan next week and staying in Akihabara. I know there's no much going on there. But does anyone know of any places that accept foreigners near Ueno or the surrounding area? It does not need to be Japanese, in willing to see Koreans, Chinese etc. whether it's FS or BJ I'm open to it. I checked the forums but there's just so much it's hard to find it in once place. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If you speak some Japanese, sure. If not, not really. Most delivery health places might deliver to you depending on your hotel. There's also Hipness that mainly delivers to Uguisudani one stop north of Ueno on the Yamanote line.

Read reviews and have fun.

New York New York and Champs Elysees are both in Ueno and thoroughly foreigner friendly, though your provider may be a little older, and walking distance from Akihabara.

If your budget will stretch to it, you're also striking distance from the Yoshiwara soapland district, search the forum for details.

Yeah that seems to be what I hear. The fact that I speak no Japanese will hurt me greatly. Thanks for the information, hope to get some more.

Yoshiwara is not too relatively far and some places do give you rides from the station. My Japanese friends (due to his personal experience in getting into street fights with touts there) do not recommend the services in Ueno.

Yeah, the Ueno-Yushima street scene is pretty rough and sketchy (by Tokyo standards, not international ones of course).

Used to have an office near there - the vibe there seems to bring out the worst in Japanese folks . After every nomikai, at least one of the Japanese staff would end up in some scuffle or another on the way home. Never happened to any of the foreign staff, though, and it wasn't a size/intimidation factor - one guy who was 160cm tall and thin as a rail never had a hassle and he had worked there longer than any of us.

Yeah, that squares with my impression of the area.

A lot of Japanese people think foreigners are tough, violent and potentially armed, especially if they haven't traveled abroad and believe what they see on TV and in the movies. There's hardly any adult male I'd physically intimidate "on the street" in the US, but decades ago the mere fact that I'm an American appeared to spook a couple of legit Tokyo street toughs...made them back off and pull in their horns pronto. They probably assumed I had a loaded gun in my pocket or something.

I would also stay away from Ueno. I had my most sketchy rip off experience there. I will write the story when I have more time.

I wouldn't go as far as advising guys to stay away from Ueno-Yushima. It isn't all that rough or treacherous. I have played there a fair number of times with no problems. You just need to have your street smarts a bit more in gear than in other areas.

In fact, if you are like me and occasionally feel that Tokyo is a bit too much like Disneyland to give an evening a stimulating edge, a night in U-Y can be sort of refreshing.

Following on from Kabukicho, Ueno is the number2 area for scams and not recommended for a lone novice monger unless you know exactly which establishment u r going to and how to get there.

Plenty has been written here but buried under newer shite TAG should really have a dedicated area by area guide now that membership is quote large.

The touts seem to be acting independent but are part of a yakuza scum scam gang. Typically they will offer to take u to a pink salon and offer a 2000 yen discount so u pay 6000 rather than 8000 for example. There will be fotos to choose from but the hotties will be "occupied". So u pay 6000 and wait in a curtained room. A hideous 50 year old hag will come in and u will want to bail. She will get aggressive even grabbing hold of you and ask for a supplementary fee after reading a list of options. You will pay 2000 to escape her clutches. There will be no dude out front of shop to get ur money back.

This has happened 2ce to me, I took the 2md hit for the team expecting it to happen but still willing to try my luck.

Ueno is weird in that everything is one rank down. By this I mean soap land will do HJ not FS, pinkies will do HJ not BJ

If you speak Japanese the information centers will help you, either escort you to a place or call someone to take you there safely avoiding the touts.

If you go around 8 pm unay be offered 10000 yen FS by Chinese touts. I've done 2ce, it's bait and switch and minimal service, no kissing or petting just quick in and out with a domed BJ following a compulsory shower. Mainly Taiwanese women age late 20 plus

What Ueno is really good for is Chinese and Thai hostess bars 4000 or 5000 per hour it helps to speak Mandarin or some Thai to get discounted entry
There is a Hub pub there so good place to hook up with other mongers.

I saw the hostess clubs when I was on vacation last year but didn't know which one was worth trying or not. Any suggestions? I have yet to try a hostess bar, I've only done soapland twice and an AM escort. Hoping to try a lot more this trip.

There are tons of hostess bars there.

Often the girls stand outside when there are no customers. Ask how much per hour, is tax included, and what drinks you get. Usually you pay extra for beer. You'll be lucky to find an English speaker unless it's a Filipina place. Those girls are thieving bitches

Wherever you go the girls will try and get you to buy them a drink usually costing 1000 upwards. Up to you but you don't have to.

Cheaper hostess bars where you get free beer are called Girls bars. Girls stand not sit individually so you can talk to several at the same time. Ueno has 2 or 3 that would be my recommendation.

Don't go into a hostess bar where male tout is trying to get you in

Your chances of getting a girl's number and meeting her after work are slim. Just treat it as a pleasant experience rather than a waste of money.

Yes the girls are nearly all uni students so you will get some kind of chat going

Walk past Hub down the road with all the bars. On the left at street level about half way down you will see a Girls Bar written that way on English 3000 for all you can drink includes beer and wine

The last time I was in Ueno it was raining, and one of the spines of my umbrella poked the forehead of the tout that was harassing me. He tried to make a scene out of it, but we were alone on the street because of the weather. I can imagine it working on Japanese guys, though.

Odd. I know that New York New York doesn't do FS, but I didn't know it was a general trend in Ueno. I've gotten a BJ in pink salon in Ueno (as recounted here), though apparently that place closed down just recently. Maybe the only reason I was let in was the fact that the place was closing down anyway.

Haven't tried any girl's bars in Ueno yet, though. To make sure, the Hub meant here is this one on the Nakacho shopping street, not the one on the other side of the station, right?
