Last time I visited Japan, it was more than 6 years ago. The only notable memories are visiting Mount Fuji and having a caricature of myself drawn.

Now I am back for vacation!

I am in Tokyo from 10-17 December. With my bare bones Japanese, google translate, and sincere determination, I want to make the most of my 1 week trip in Tokyo!

My main objectives are:
1. Culinary - the delicious/must try places in Tokyo and nearby.
2. Local specialties - so far I have visited an owl cafe and the gozilla head @ Toho cinemas.
3. Onsen - I am eyeing Hakone right now, but not fixed yet.
4. Clubbing - I heard the clubs in Tokyo can get very lit, with spacious dancing areas and sick music.
5. Hooking up or getting a date - whats better than doing fun stuff? Doing it with fun people! And also my hotel room is at the top floor at the end of the hall, which means its cold AF. Just the right temperature for cuddling :p

I have some plans, but it cannot compare with the expertise of those living in Tokyo. I hope the members of TAG are willing to provide any recommendation or suggestion on who, what, when, where, why, and how to have fun with/at/in Tokyo.

Hontoni Arigatougozaimasen!

Well... you probably should make a better request with better clarity on what you want to do.

Suggesting a onsen vs. where to get laid are completely different topics.

Considering that he's already in Japan and staying only for the week, that doesn't leave much time for planning. So I say screw any long distance travel plans and stick to central Tokyo and immediate surroundings + Yokohama. I wouldn't even bother with Hakone if advance plans weren't made. Kind of late to be "eying" it IMO.

My best suggestion is to keep expectations reasonable. Good food is everywhere so no problems there. Plenty of sights to see and shopping as well. Clubbing is not that fun if you're alone and don't speak Japanese. Little chance of scoring a date. Inconsistent at the very least. What you need is an escort or a soapland or similar. That would make the trip worth it.

Hmm I guess an appropriate TLDR would be: top 3 restaurants to try and top 3 activities todo in nearby Tokyo.

What do you recommend to eat and do/see in Yokohama?
Good food is indeed aplenty as I have experienced thus far. In which case, where are the particularly exceptional treats at? I'm aiming for more of the walk in dives, as its likely too late to make bookings.
Even if I don't get a date out of it, I'd still like to visit the clubs in Tokyo! Do you have any particular one you like?

Thanks for the feedbacks! Please do not refrain your suggestions in light of my time limit. I do not intend for this to be my last visit to Japan, and I could use the information now to plan better later :D

Call me boring but I always go to the ramen museum out there in Yokohama and try to eat as many mini ramen bowls as I can. They have like 10 different restaurants in there serving different styles/flavors. Cool retro scenery in there as well. Then you could pop over to the instant ramen museum nearby, lol.

I'll let the others recommend clubs since I don't frequent them often.

I’ve always wanted to try the ramen museum, but thought they only had full sized servings. Wasn’t aware they had mini ramen too. That makes it much easier to sample different ones. :)
