I read on a thread here regarding meeting av stars for a photo session. Saw that there is a event for one of my favorite av actresses. I used google translate but a few things seem unclear to me. It says I need to bring a camera but photo cameras arent allowed, so a point and click or dslr? And is there any benefit from getting more tickets? It states added time taking pictures but since I dont have a camera with me do I just get more instax photos? Aside from the 2 if I dont bring a camera. And does it state anywhere will I be able to get a pic beside the actress? Will visit the store once I arrive in tokyo to try and see if there are still tickets but I am trying to gather as much info as possible prior to then. And aside from the site above, do other site also offer photoshoots? I tried using google but couldnt find any. Thanks alot l.

photo cameras arent allowed
I couldnt find this part.

from what I read, no smartphone or mobile phone.

if you forgot "real" camera, you get the chance to shoot 2 cheki (polaroid?) from them.

rules are pretty straightforward

1. Any camera but a smartphone or your own checki. Cannot use a tripod or stand for video
2. If you don’t have a camera you will get 2 extra checki using their camera plus the printed photo that comes with the 1 ticket
3. You will get a pic beside the actress if you buy 2 tix. Get her signature if u buy 3. But it’s unclear what happens if you don’t have a camera with the 2 tix. If you buy 3 tix, apparently you get another checki next to her or her alone

Really the whole point of this event is to take pictures. Not sure why anyone would choose to go without an approved camera.

Bottom line - to get closest to what you want without a camera you need to buy 3

I’ve never been to these kinds of events as it basically a group of people all trying to get a shot of the model all at the same time, like paparazzi. Not my cup of tea.

I much prefer the one on one sessions at various studios around Tokyo ( you’ll find ads for these in the back of photography magazines in Japan). Basically you can book a private photo session with a model / AV actress in 40 min blocks, where you can pretty much shoot any pose you would like (as long as the model is ok with it and no touching is allowed). It’s way more laid back and you can take your time setting up your shots without having to compete with a bunch of others all at the same time. Though be warned, 40 minutes will fly by pretty quick.

You do need to be pretty fluent in speaking and writing Japanese to make the online bookings at these studios and also when you interact with the models, as the ones I’ve been to nobody speaks English.

The studio provides a basic room with a couch, bed, and a few led lights on stands so all you need to bring is your photo camera (no smartphones).

(Unless you’re a nutcase like me who brings a whole suitcase full of lighting equipment to these shoots and then has to lug it up 3-4 flights of narrow ass stairs cause Dumbass always forgets there’s no elevator) :dead:

You can also ask the staff to take a two shot of you and the model if she is ok with it (you have to keep your clothes ON btw). There is also an option to take video if you pay extra, but again you don’t touch the model and you only shoot what they are comfortable with (which is another reason why knowing Japanese is important)

It’s a great way to practice photography and your Japanese at the same time. In the past I’ve photographed several AV stars including Kobayakawa Reiko and Enami Ryu. I’ve written a few reviews of these sessions which you can find using the search function.

I miss typed I meant phone cameras arent allowed. As I understood aswell if I didnt bring a camera I would be given 2 polaroid photos which I thought were pre shot like some from toyo show. Glad to know I will be the one taking the photos. Thanks.

I would just like a pic beside the actress the other thing are just gravy. Didnt really think of going to a shoot just was a spur of the moment thing. I might buy a point and shoot but doesnt seem like it would be worth it. I do have a dslr but I always found phones to be easier now that the quality is great. Thank you for the reply.

I did read about your exprience with private photo shoots. It was very informative. I try to do research and the detail you go into was great but I dont enjoy photoshoots as much as I used to so a 1 on 1 shoot would be wasted on me. A simple pic with the actress is all I need. I did laugh when you said you got looks from the other people bringing full battle gear but Im sure the model appreciates the effort. When I was still in my teen and bought my first dslr with kit lens and joined a photo shoot I do remember that the model looks more towards photogs with red ring lenses 😂😂😂.

Seems like Prestige is quite strict with their camera policy…
Other events are fine with phone cameras as long as “live” is turned off.
Since your goal is 2shot cheki/sha-me, damage is probably about 9k yen since you need to get 3 dvds

That's the only/best site for AV release events/meet and greets etc
Maybe look for another event that has more relaxed rules?
On the same day you have Kurumi, in terms of value, better option

2DVDs for your goal of 2shot.

Phones are allowed

May I know what ticketing date means? It states that 9/10 is the ticketing date does that mean tickets are only sold at that time? Or does that mean tickets start sale on that date but there is still a possibility to buy if tickets have not reached the 50 ticket limit?

They start selling on “listed date” in this case 9/10 . If tickets are available, you can purchase DVDs for them until 10mins before end of the event(this is usually the situation) or if they have given out all the tickets.
If you are trying your luck on the day itself, go to the event area and ask the staff at the counter if the tickets are still available and ask him what you need to purchase to get the ticket.
Usually they will bring you to the shelves which you need to purchase “targetted item” and “related item”.

Ps. You sort of arent trying your luck. From experiences, the tickets are never soldout even until the last minute

Hi again, sorry if i ask so many questions, but I think it better to ask here than in the store were they might not understand english. It seem like the rules have changed again. As far as I gather the 3 ticket option is sold out. With the 2 ticket option do I still get a photo with the actress or did I miss out since that was what was limited to 50 tickets. Thanks again.

TLDR. Yes, you can take a photo with her if you buy 2 tickets.

I don't think they changed the rules, it was written on av-event page.
But like I said, ask the staff at the counter if tickets are still available and if getting 3 still gets you the full benefits.

1 purchase >1 printed photo and personal photo session
2 purchase >the above + 2shot
3 purchase > the above + sign, extended photo session + two shot OR oneshot cheki

2shot = photo with her
oneshot = solo polaroid

1. mobile/smartphone camera not allowed.
2. there is a photosession please bring your camera(idk why they have to put this kinda stupid imo)
3. if you forgot to bring a camera, we will give you 2 polaroids
4. using your own instax camera is not allowed
5. no video recording

Seems like you will not be allowed to use your phone even for the 2shot since they are so strict on this.

My bad for not reading previously, skimmed through the comments here.

Update : I was able to get a ticket for up to number 2 since 3 was sold out.

Though he couldnt say if the 2 shot if they would have a instax or a digital camera is required. So I really might have to buy one.

My ticket number is 349. Thats alot of people for the place which seems small. 😅.

Its gonna be a experience. Thanks alot everyone.

Don't be surprised if you see ladies wearing nice dresses in the queue with gifts and items for signing.
It's becoming more and more normal this days.
