To @meiji 's excellent list I can only suggest one addition: Have verifiable experience making and successfully marketing adult video somewhere or be a verifiable employee of some established and known company that makes and markets such films in some country. (In other words, don't be a newbie or amateur in the industry.)

Well, to be a little snotty, you could start by spelling 'amateurs' correctly.

You are probably out of luck. Finding Japanese women that have never done porn before is a dark art and there's a LOT of men in Japan whose sole job is to recruit for porn agencies. If you are a) not Japanese b) don't speak Japanese c) not in Japan d) not an established agency/porn studio, you are going to have a REALLY hard time of it.

There's been one or two studios that have specialized in 'white guys fucking japanese girls', the most 'successful' of which from what I've seen is Little Mango, which put out maybe 4 videos with existing JP porn stars (including Yui Komine) before probably realizing that the return on investment wasn't that good. They then put out a kickstarter-like campaign that never came close to meeting the bare minimum to fund it, and that was years ago. It looks like they've now converted over to a fellatio site, which I suppose is a happy medium that can use Japanese porn stars and still attract Japanese guys that have no interest in seeing Japanese girl get fucked by a foreigner.

You just aren't going to make any money doing it. Sorry.

From the thread's title, I think the OP is imagining marketing adult films with Japanese actresses somewhere abroad, i.e., not to Japanese men particularly.

It still is VERY unlikely to work given the a, b, c, d situation you spelled out, but it appears to me to be a different idea that won't work.

Well, I think I made that point that it would fail miserably by talking about Little Mango, which did just that: Marketing JP porn stars to western audiences, who didn't seem to much care. They've only stayed in business by taking race out of it and while they are allegedly marketing to western porn fans, I'd be really REALLY surprised if a large number of their subscribers if not a majority aren't in Japan.

Their initial failure might have been that while they are attractive women, they weren't the barely legal super-kawaii ones that might have gained a foothold in the US market. The lack of these girls (for Little Mango and for any other potential foreigner-run JAV company) is because cute young women have a lot of other opportunities and frankly banging a white guy on camera is several steps down the JP porn ladder.

It might be different if, say, a major American porn company with deep pockets recruited a major JP porn star, but there's more than enough foreign-born or residing Asian women (think Asa Akira or Alina Li) to satisfy the western market's 'yellow fever'. Plus, to be completely blunt, with the internet these days porn is essentially free (obviously not legally so). Guys that have a standard broadband connection and can download the complete works of Alina Li (or Yua Aida for that matter) in a few days...for free... aren't going to pay $35/mo for one website.

Given that most places discourage both scouting and video taping, this plan may or may not cause problems. I'm not really sure who the PC Police are or what they represent. Most people poo-poo the "I'd love to fuck an AV girl" or "I want to start a JAV company" because it's highly unlikely, not because fucking Japanese women is something special or something. People that want to do it should go for it, just go in with your eyes open as to how difficult it will be.

I can't recall ever seeing a specific porn that focuses on a specific country's race. Yes, there are white, black, latino, asian and other targeted videos that you can see abroad. But, again, other than some online videos that are really from Japan, I never remember seeing something marketed as "Japanese girls.... etc."

For the OP, this is truly uphill battle with very little in return (at the end).

Agreed. Just wanted to point out that it's not that complicated to meet an AV actress (granted, not a huge star) and ask her if she's opened to AV work cooperation (or simply asking to meet her agent). Whether the OP is serious or not about this I have no clue. And of course I didn't imply that actual filming or contract discussions etc... should happen during the [Redacted] session! It can be asked tactfully, say towards the end , and I'm sure they already received such inquiries. After all they are advertised as AV actresses. If the answer is "No" then so be it.

Assuming you're in Japan and can speak / write very good Japanese (or have an employee/assistant who can) you might have an easier time putting an audition together yourself and trying to find talent.

There are audition sites up for all different kinds of entertainment work (modeling, singing, acting, etc) and, while its outside my own area of expertise, I'm guessing with some legwork you could find a site that handles adult material as well.

If you have no past credits to your name and no reputation you're probably going to have a hard time getting started but if you can offer good compensation I imagine you could get a decent number of applicants.

In line with what Meiji mentioned some AV actresses who are just getting started also have contact info for their management in their Twitter profiles, etc. You'll likely get shot down but it at least shows that their agencies are open to working with new producers.

@PeterPiper has given us so very little information on what he has in mind and it seems so unlikely to be practical/successful, that it is probably a waste of time to discuss it further. However and fwiiw, an approach through an actress's agent is far more professional and legit in appearance (and we are in Japan after all where appearances are hyper-important) than asking her informally in some other setting.

And of course the "security" of working with staff who speak your native language.
But what do you have to offer to convince them to shoot with you instead? Would be faster to search for a random japanese girl who would accept to be shot for money than an already enrolled actress.
