If you're single with no wife/kids and on a high income, the maybe you can go 50%.

Is anyone else on here self employed (sole trader or run your own company) (And not meaning you lovely escorts) ?
I ask as a lot of what @Solong says here gets written off as business expenses, leaving more of your income free to do what you want.

Years ago, I spent 10-30%. But it wasn't that much as my income was shite. Now, 0%. Married, kid on the way. Self-employed now too, so the income varies. But if I was spending today based on what I earn now, it'd be anywhere from 1% to 5% depending on the month.

As I've said in other threads, in the last 10 years a good wank has saved me hundreds of thousands :)

Exactly the same as me. I live in Europe and have a "normal" job, so I'm not exactly swimming in money, but I have my fun when I visit Japan.

Almost time for this year's Touhou Reitaisai too, can't wait :woot:

im pretty much not doing it at all anymore.. A few times when I get extra lonely I have come close to arranging something with manami or missinsomnia but managed to resist the temptation so far haha

im trying to think.. No don't spend the money on a hour of fun.. Spend it on some nice clothes or better exercise gear or whatever to help my dating life

happy hinomara sounds interesting as a experiment in japanese culture (kind of!) but I cant imagine I could finish there.. I think id be too anxious and its a little hard for me anyway

My general rule is whatever I have left after saving and paying bills is my play money. I also like to meticulously like to plan out my mongering times. So on one of these so called dates I will spend roughly about 500-600 USD every few months or so.

I'm new here and plan on going to Tokyo very soon. I've mongered at other well known destinations for years. Although I didn't have any plans to monger in Tokyo when I originally booked the trip, I started doing some research on the P4P scene there just in case. Anyways, to piggyback on what the OP posted, considering the replies here, the high cost and hassles of mongering to Tokyo, do most guys here live in Tokyo or go there for business primarily and just end up mongering while you are there or are you primarily traveling there to monger?

Anyways, hope nobody takes offense I'm just wondering. I'm looking forward to visiting Tokyo as a tourist and I'm sure I'm going to love it. I might try P4P if I have time just to say that I did it. Would love to try [Redacted] (Especially Ema, LOL) but have a hard time convincing myself to do it for the price and no guarantee of FS, the soaplands are another option for FS, but are on the high side (IMHO) as far as price for what you get (short time and possible hassle choosing a girl). If I do try anything, I will be sure to write a review here. BTW, great website, keep up the good job.

Don't know where you have played before, but, yes, Tokyo can be expensive especially compared to most of Southeast Asia. There is also more of a learning curve here.
 
I’ve long thought of P4P as a hobby a bit like playing golf. Some of my friends back in Beikoku like to play golf once or twice a week. Personally, I never cared for golf. So, at least I don’t spend money on green fees, etc.

During an average month I probably spend roughly about as much on my hobby as I do on rent and utilities combined. Yet, because I live out in the 'burbs, my rent isn’t too steep.
