On the other hand, got refused at Tohri and Polaris, which were shown to be OK on the list. I speak Japanese well enough to fool someone for the first minute, but was shown the door right away

Good to hear that this thread/list was helpful during your adventures!

Like already said maybe you got simply denied because no girls were available for foreigners at that time, rooms were all full etc.
For now I ll leave the information on the list as is....if somebody else gets denied because of a general policy change, I'll edit it.

I was quoted a gaijin tax of 10k for New Grand in Shinjuku by someone there recently.

I have bad news for those who liked Mirei including myself. She moved to Don Juan. I heard they have 20k gaijin tax. I guess I won't be seeing her anymore:cry:

Hi All, I have mostly been in Ikebukuro/Shinjuku SLs, here is some info to help fill in the table:

Ikebukuro :
Grace: no phone reservations for foreigners; 10k gaijin tax; worst panemaji I've ever seen; probably no English;
Wakaba: no phone reservations for foreigners;
Marine Blue Honten: take phone reservations; lots of girls apparently don't serve foreigners (maybe the guy on the phone was being an ass that day); CBJ as per store policy; mat depends on the girl (no way to filter; need to click on each girl's profile on CH);
Marine Blue Annex: Honten provider told me that poorly performing girls from Honten get sent there (conversely, if they do well at Annex, they get "promoted" to Honten).
Marine Blue (North Exit): take phone reservations. Used to be more English/foreigner friendly, new guy systematically asks whether I can speak Japanese (after spending 5 minutes making my reservation in Japanese and finally finding out that I'm foreigner, whatever). In case of Harem need to pay gaijin tax twice (2x5k).
Tohri: do not take reservations, but seemed open to foreigners.
Violence: take reservations on the phone (Japanese), but most providers don't take foreigners.

Shinjuku:
Barubola : no reservations on the phone.

Thanks for the info. I have updated the sheet where info was missing.

Only thing I can add is that I went to Marine Blue Honten recently and got regular BBBJ so CBJ doesn't seem to be a strict policy......seems to depend on the girl.

OK so that girl flat out lied then... I remember when she put the cap on I told her "I'm surprised because at other Marine Blue soaps I always get BBBJ", and then she told me it was store policy so I was like shikata nai... Maybe I'll write a review, the whole encounter with her was awful.

She is either lying or confused. No such store policy exists. Entirely up to the lady.

Perhaps confused yes, but between that first experience and the second time, when I tried to make a reservation, gave them 3 names, all girls allegedly refusing foreigners, then asked them "OK then who is willing to serve foreigners?" and them giving me a girl who was not my type and not even at the time I asked (I then just refused), I just gave up on Honten... It is cheap and rather clean and spacious so that's a bit of a shame.

I'm surprised. They had a recent huge renovation and claim to have the best rooms in Ikebukuro (at least within the Kadoebi group). Would have thought they could put some stunners to work in there. Rates are also not that cheap for Ikebukuro.

I should read this more carefully earlier. Allow foreigner doesn't mean allow non-japanese speakers.

It is a weird culture for Japan. In the US as long as you speak English (or even you don't e.g. Spanish only) people won't get treated differently. I initially thought the gaijin tax is for those not speaking Japanese and thought okay I I am fine paying this tax. However this tax is on race, or nationality, not language? I wonder who would pay this tax in the below two cases: a white dude present a Japan passport, or a Japanese dude present a US passport.

There are many latino spot in the US, that doesn't require speaking Spanish at all. It would all be just body language. I don't need conversation and I can understand basics like "no" or body language.

Well, it is what it is. I totally respect local culture. Would do more research on which place allow non-japanese speaking guest next time.

That's why we have created threads/list like this to document the requirements for each shop in detail. It is easy for other members to see which shops are ok with foreigners that speak English, which are ok if you speak Japanese...and which shops will only allow Purebloods.

Yeah, it is complicated in Japan but it is what it is.

There is only one in this list that allows English and with the gajin tax it is really not worth the price as Japanese girl in New York soapland is similar price and they speak English well

Yeah the problem with Marine Blue is the shop doesn't care but there are VERY few ladies who will take gaijin and even fewer who will take gaijin who cannot speak Japanese. And honestly of their entire roster given all their shops, most of their ladies are not worth it.

Also you cannot compare a homogenous country like Japan where 98% of the population is ethnically Japanese, with the USA where 3% of the population is ethnically Native American.

There is only one with a green circle because all reports were positive about it and one review even mentioned that staff speaks English well, but there are 5 more in Ikebukuro and 2 more in Shinjuku with a yellow triangle. They all have been used by English speaking foreigners, but the outcome may vary depending on which staff is working the day and on how you present yourself. I think there are enough places where you can try your luck.

this got me confused why people come all the way to japan.

Funny you mention it because that's what led me there in the first place; I was looking for a more "premium" experience in Ikebukuro, and the shop certainly looks premium too, outside and inside (the waiting room is spacious with a bar, big TV etc.). However the girl (or perhaps should I say "woman") was undoubtedly the least attractive person I ever had intercourse with (in my whole life I mean). But she did give me very good service and she was super nice!

Eh... everybody is different, and it changes depending on situation: how's she's feeling, the chemistry between you, she saw something on your peepee she didn't like, she just had a positive test and she's trying to protect you. I've had vastly different experiences in the same store, policies be damned.

Got into violence several times by calling first... wish they'd just say "nobody now" instead of the big X when you walk in without reservation.

Bunny Girl website is down. I haven't been around that area for a while so I'm not if the store is open.

There are so many great reasonably priced hotel health shops in Ikebukuro that don't charge gaijin tax if you speak Japanese that I've never even thought to go to a soap if I'm playing there.

Great to have the info, though, thanks!
Like which ones? Do you mind sharing please?

ビート板 matches my kinks so I frequent there. Hyper Tokyo is good as well

Have you used Hyper recently?....last time for me was a few months ago. They started advertising on Yasobi Heaven....so I want to make sure that you can still book for the normal price in Japanese.
