She will conclude her business next month (June). I didn't get an exact date, but definitely by the end of next month, Manami will have retired from the escort scene.

I don't know if she'll post an update on her site, but I guess if you request a date beyond June, she'll confirm that she won't be available.
 
Like JimN, my first reaction was denial. Such sad news! I'd been just thinking about my next trip to Tokyo, and hoping for another meeting with this amazing woman, when I read this post. Like kansaigaijin, I can't get to Tokyo this month, so the opportunity is likely lost.

I feel very fortunate that I had the opportunity to meet Manami, even if only once. She gave me an experience I will always fondly remember.
 
Hello all, are there really so few independent ladies in Tokyo or is it just the language barrier!? Aside from Manami I haven't been able to find anyone who piques my interest... seems a bit hard to believe in such a big city. I saw Manami once, when she was still with AM (probably about 4 years ago!). It was such a great appointment. I will definitely try to get one last appointment with her before June ends. It's still dry in Tokyo, comparing to what it was pre-3/11. I had been seeing a AM girl fairly regularly and she mentioned that things were still really slow. Going for days without requests, etc.

OTOH, if you check other review sites, some regular Japanese shops that were once 'Japanese only' have started taking more foreigners and charging a lot less than what the foreigner-centric escort scene had been charging. That also includes some of the non-Japanese shops such as Thai, Chinese, Korean -- some are mentioned here on TAG.

On a personal level, I prefer the social interaction with nice ladies instead of the wham-bam types. I'd prefer to pay the higher prices and get more out of the time.

Quality is also very important to me. I think you can get lucky with the lower priced options once in a while, but consistency and quality command a premium. I've been generally happy with AM girls (and with a few, I've been amazed at how happy), and I know of one Manami-like independent in my home town that has a similar price premium, but my experiences with cheaper options have generally been a lot less satisfactory. I know this is not true for everyone here, so I guess YMMV.

Manami was my first escort... And the only one. I couldn't imagine trying anyone else and have an experience that comes remotely close to the quality that is Manami. And I will keep doing that even with her gone.
