Hello folks,

I'm on my final stretch of almost nearing finishing my vacation and have finally started buying various gifts family and co-workers asked me to get. In this case,my older brother asked me if I could get him something unusual, that being if I could get him a poster of Japan's mascots. Does anyone know a good place I can get it?

I briefly looked it up and it says each prefecture has their own mascot. What are my chances of finding a poster with either all or as much as them as possible one poster?

I've already had I couldn't fullfill(older sister wanted me to get her a very specific type of tongue cleaner in South Korea, not the cheap, generic types found in regular shops.)

What's the odd for me in this case? If anyone knows of a good place in Tokyo city(I'm currently staying in the Ueno station area and will soon leave for another hotel close to Nippori station.

Thanks to who can offer suggestions and everyone for any helpful hints on where I could check out!

I know that posters like these do exist:

Where you can find one to buy though? I've heard of shops that sell movie posters or more retro like ones, but no clue regarding train/street ad posters and such.

That's the kind of poster my older brother would want but yea.......despite not having even a 0.1% chance,I looked around a few shops in Akihabara for posters, zilch.

Yeah, I could imagine a shop in Akihabara selling such things so that would've been my suggestion.

Now I did find this site (https://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/yuruchara/info.html) and apparently they have a store in the Shibuya area (https://goo.gl/maps/zzMA5GK4Mgw). No idea if they would sell posters there, but I suppose it's worth a shot.

You can save the above image file in a USB drive and bring it to a printing shop. There is a Kinkos in Ueno, but they might refuse to make a poster for copyright issue. There are quite a few printing shops in the area, including one in Nippori.

Here's another image you may want to use.

Hahahah yeah, I was actually kinda contemplating on suggesting the same thing as well. But at the same time, I also understand the desire of wanting to buy the actual poster. Plus sometimes the images don't print that well for whatever reason.

Yes, I do understand the OP's desire and wish him the best of luck. However, the thing is that those event posters are not for sale usually. Those "yuru-charas" events are often subsidized by provincial/municipal governments and they make a limited number of posters and flyers for their routine PR exercises. Moreover, non event-related poster with many "yuru-charas" for sales purposes may not exist for copyright reasons.

That being the likely case,I'll just settle for getting my brother a few souvenirs for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, since I saw some at Bic Camera/Yodoyabashi several days ago. This would be the 2nd time I wasn't to find what a family member asked specifically because either the item in question was near nigh impossible to get normally(the first,my older sister wanted me to bring back a particular tongue scrapper from South Korea, but which normal shops don't carry,I checked several and they only sell the special ones to dental offices or similar if a vast number is ordered.)
