I'd love to write a review! But seeing how the majority of threads in this section revolve around happening bars and a variety of interesting sorts, I fear my adventure may not sound too interesting. Since MossBoss has already so nicely setup a good thread going about the Comfort Bar, it seems fitting to put a 'review' here:
From my understanding, Comfort bar's main kinda customer probably ain't me but I just HAD to see this place in person after seeing the posts here about it.
Located in Kabukicho, a little hard to find if you don't know what to look for. My landmark was this hairless naked guy signage advertising some host club... from there a little while up the road will get you to this little hidden gem.
Small bar, pretty cozy and rather quiet before 12AM. My first visit was on Friday night at around 9:30PM - nothing really happening at that point but I was already reeling in excitement for actually being in it. Bartender knows how to mix his drinks. Friendly mofo as well, it was a good experience.
Second visit on Saturday night around 12AM after supper with another colleague of mine whom I wanted to show the place off and grab a quick drink and leave. There were slightly more people, a cute japanese girl was using the karaoke system and singing with her friends. My friend and I enjoy karaoke very much and he starts mouthing the words of the song. The girl sees this and races to give him the mic and it was hella fun interacting and socialising with a cute girl we didn't know.
Bought her a drink in gratitude for allowing us to join her song and we all hit it from there. An hour or so later more people came in, like a whole bunch of guys and girls and good loooord some of them girls were gorgeous. Turns out they were all friends and I start getting a bit high and start buying people cocktails (mainly girls of course, but it wouldn't be fair if i don't give a drink or two to the bloke next to me). I'm drunk and I'm just throwing my money on drinks but as I've never experienced this kinda camaraderie with pretty Japanese people whom I don't know it was simply euphoria for me. There were other girls in the bar drunk as hell falling all over the guys (including me) which was somewhat a surprise but the skinship was undeniably pleasant.
Being fairly drunk and a bit too charitable eventually invites a few moochers looking for free drinks. I was about to give a drink to this other guy who looks like a host when the bartender was awesome enough to stop me. It was so easy for him to make a buck off me but thinking for my benefit, he stopped me from buying a drink for that guy. Serious respect for a bartender thinking of his customers first. Definitely going there again just to buy him a drink.
The best part of this experience was probably that my friend and I got contacts from these absolutely gorgeous looking girls. Probably never get to invite them out even with their contact but it sure was a great way to end the night.
