I'll be going to Tokyo soon, and need some help to where there might be good places/ bars to hook up girls?

If you can't speak Japanese, start with Roppongi. The quality is hit and miss but it's worth a start. Otherwise, try some of the coffee shops in the areas where foreigners are more common.
Watch out for the bar "Motown" - there are real girls and then there are the not-so-real girls. Check carefully.
The party starts late in Roppongi - after 10:00 or 11:00 on Friday and Saturday nights things will really start moving.
Hostess Bars - They're everywhere in the Roppongi Crossing area. Every tout on the street will try to get you into his bar. They will often offer you a free drink to get you in. Once inside, you will be the object of the affection of one or more ladies, but it comes at a steep price. The ladies work on commission; they get paid a percentage of every overpriced drink or bottle of wine. If you're particularly unlucky, you may be lured into a private dance room - alarm bells should be going off in your head. They charge by the song AND the drink/bottle. Many of the ladies are true professionals. Unless you're wealthy, have a bottomless expense account or want to destroy your credit card(s) you should avoid these places.
Motown House, Geronimos, Mogambo and Gas Panic - The first three cater to the English speaking expatriate crowd. All three are likely to be lively on a weekend night. You will find a variety of people - groups who are there together and have no interest in others, groups and individuals on the prowl, etc. Again, many of the ladies are true professionals; you may find a non-profit in there, but don't bet the farm on it. As previously mentioned, be a discerning shopper; there are many choices, especially at Motown House. Whether you do or don't want nuts with that, you will want to check the package before ordering take out.
Commission Bars - Be on the lookout for some of the professionals. They often invite you to another favorite bar of theirs. These will often be commission bars where the ladies get paid by the drink/bottle that they get you to buy. The tip off will be the prices of drinks and bottles are very high compared to "normal" bars. The alarm bells should be going off anytime a drink is JPY 3,000+ or a bottle is JPY 20,000+. Hey guys! I will be visiting Tokyo for the 1st time and I could really use your honest opinion on Gaspanic before possibly wasting my time there! LOTS of articles and posts about this place keep mentioning that there are many Japanese girls there looking to hook-up with foreigners. At the same time, many of these same posters say that it's a bad place to go to, because the girls are on the slutty side. What's the deal guys, are they like freelance prostitutes or maybe just haters posting? I don't understand why someone would go to a club and complain if it is really full of J-girls looking to score -most men don't go to clubs just to dance!- so why all the hate about Gaspanic? It sounds more like paradise to me than anything! Am I missing something?

Quite simply, those of us that live here or otherwise visit often understand the routine.
Gaspanic - It's a great place to start if you are new to Tokyo. However, the girls that go there are usually the same girls we see there every weekend. They come, find what they want and then come back again for the same routine. Thus, the quality of choices is not that great if you go back repeatedly over any amount of time.
For people that live here and have done so for a number of years, Gaspanic is bottom of the barrel. It's hard to meet someone new there. I now prefer some of the Japanese bars in Shibuya and Shinjuku, but my wants and needs have changed. I'm looking for good conversation and a deeper connection. If I were 20-25 years old again, I'd hit up places like Gaspanic for some easy action.
If you're in Tokyo for any length of time, you would come to the same realization. To be fair, there are also man-whores that show up to. The same guys showing up week after week, just there to fish out any new flesh that shows up.

The ratio varies from night to night...
The party usually gets started around 10-11pm and then people are there for the night. People will hang out until the trains start running again. The first two rounds will go by quickly and those on their game will get theirs and be out the door in a few hours. At the end, there is always a few hanging on for the last hope.
Overall, you have to initiate and take the lead if you want results. There seem to be always more guys than girls, so don't stand around waiting.
ID'ing a non-pro can be tricky. If it feels 'too easy' then, it probably is and you'll be in for a surprise. Ugly is subjective, depends on your tastes and what's out there.
I'd have to ask some of the younger guys I know where they are hanging out these days. I know it's usually Roppongi though...

Tokyo is NOT as lively or as cool as it used to be. The policies of the ultra-nationalist governor and politicians, who have been anti-foreigner and racist, has eliminated a lot of Tokyo's once international flavor. Combined with the Fukushima incident and how overly expensive Tokyo is, many foreigners go to other countries. Thailand, Singapore, and even Korea are all cheaper and more fun. Bangkok is way more international, fun, and less expensive.

I think it's pretty safe to say that, for the most part, women do not go to clubs in Roppongi unless they are trying to meet men and/or get laid.
IME, most of this type of "cock blocking" takes place because either (a) girl A doesn't want to go home alone while girl B is with a guy, (b) girl A doesn't want to leave girl B alone in the club while she goes off with a guy, or (c) a plastered girl A is about to stumble out with a creepy guy and girl B doesn't want her friend to be raped. Not many women go out on their own in this town -- Tokyo is very safe as far as most crimes go, but there are a lot of perverts around and women are justifiably paranoid. So it's always best to go out with a wingman or two. That gives you the option to scout out attractive groups and "divide and conquer," and also makes you seem less sketchy than if you are out there on your own.
I live very close to Roppongi, so I know the area well.
I suggest going to Mid-town to some of the nicer bars there. There is a new bar at Roppongi Crossing that gets pretty good action. I have chatted up a few chicks there recently and got some phone numbers.
Overall, I also generally avoid Roppongi -- unless it is late and I am on the way home. The clubs are good fun -- but I can't stay out until the sun rises anymore -- too old for that.
I think there is better quality to be found in Nishi Azabu and the like, but don't expect 500 yen drinks.

The governor of Tokyo and right wing ultra-nationalistic groups have saturated the media and Japanese minds with anti-foreigner propaganda for the last 12 years, when they came into office. The change didn't happen immediately, but took about 4 years and has done damage the last 8 years. Tokyo has been going DOWNWARD as a party place the last 6 years. The higher yen and Fukushima has speeded up the process.

i wonder what bars you have been going to because i frequently go to Roppo and meet woman and end up having sex with them, maybe not the same night but generally shortly thereafter and some the same night. I would say its Hit or Miss but not never, and if people laughing at you bothered me then hell i would have just stayed home forever.
I'm looking for specific clubs/bars in Roppongi or Shibuya, with a relatively young age group, like early-mid 20's. I've gotten lucky in Gas Panic once, but it's not my favourite place. Some other places that seemed OK are Greenland in Roppongi, and Scramble in Shibuya but I've only been to those once.

There is no magic place for meeting women. The real secret, if you could call it that, is the number of women that you approach and get numbers/e-mails from.
Most guys that have problems with getting women, are not going out there and talking to women. It's often that simple, a math problem and courage problem. They are often overly afraid of rejection and can't handle if they are turned down. So don't talk to many.women and lose out on many oppourtunies. Some guys, when they get turned down, come back stronger. They dress better, groom better, hit the gym, and come back "stronger". Some guys, when they get turned down, let it get to them and become near depressed. They become even more afraid to talk to anyone, and can become like a hermit.
And 95% of men can't follow a female path. Women can be passive, indirect, coy, tantalize, bait, etc... That works for women, especially if pretty or sexy, because men are wired to be attracted to that and have the testosterone.
To hit homeruns, you have to have the guts to step up to the plate and swing. And having the balls to do something, is what being a man is all about.
