Hey everyone,

I've been prowling around on the forums for a while now and will be staying in Shinjuku from Jan 2nd-7th. I am interested in going to an HB but feel my lack of the Japanese language might pose an issue. Would it be possible if i could have someone familiar with the setting to accompany me as a guide for one of the nights? Everyone here seems really civil and well mannered so i'm feeling optimistic. Single Guy, AA (if it matters), Late 20s. Doesn't matter if its a male/female showing me around. Thanks for allowing me to post here!

If you want to go to HB and need someone to take or guide you then u need to state what your budget is...
Alternatively... You can get one of the nice independent escorts here on TAG and compensate them for their social time to be with you.... I believe there are a couple of them that offer this, that's if they agree to your request.

What is the benefit for the civil and well mannered person that takes you??? You don't advise this...

Maybe if u lived here you may have a better chance... As a visitor then best to assume you need to compensate someone for this service..

Reward them for explaining the rules and showing me around...the HB whether its payment, or drinks. Paying someone money still doesn't mean i want someone with me that is going to be a jerk. That's what i meant. I feel as if you have me confused with someone that is looking for a complete tour guide. I just want someone to tag along to a HB with.

@laniersenpai ... I know what you meant and I still stand behind my comment. You are coming for a few days and trying to line up a like minded person to tag along with to a HB... These types of places are hit and miss, if you have read the forum and notice, HB are much more enjoyable on event nights which I don't know if they are taking place during your stay. Hell they may even be closed for New Years Holidays... Regardless, the chance someone will risk meeting up with a complete stranger to go to a HB I think is very slim... If you compensate / offer compensation then at least there is some motivation to "hang out" with a visitor... plus they have no idea how you will act in such a place and if they are a regular there, it could turn very bad, very quick... tag along / guide... kind of "same same" in your context.

Depending on person... If one of the independent escorts here on TAG.... Then I think they require ¥20,000/hour... That's for social time... Not to play or participate.

If someone else then up to them and other person to sort out.

HB are particular type of place, so it's not like going to normal bar, so you need someone that knows Japanese as well as the ins and outs of that particular HB..

Each time you go to HB it's a different vibe based on the people there at that one time..

Though I think I remember one TAG independent posting that she no longer does stuff like this because of an incident where the guy behaved badly and she got the blame.

Historically, more than one has had issues taking clients to HB's or CK's.
Behaving badly or just simply being a dick and not respecting the rules, etc. etc.

There have been meet ups of couples before, maybe a bit harder for a single guys but hey, if you offer to cover the other person’s entry costs, maybe some would be up for it. Timing may not work out though, which is probably why you’re not getting invitations.

Happening bars are no rocket science. Many of them require Japanese health insurance nowadays and the one that doesn’t is Bliss Out. Which is known to have some English speaking staff and to accept foreigners without Japanese usually. Communication with the other guests might be a problem.

Thank you all for the information. I consider myself to be a pretty fair and reasonable guy. Based on my readings, if something doesn't happen, it just doesnt and im willing to accept it. I just wanted to go for the experience. I would love to cover someones charge and drinks while there no problem to help me communicate like some have mentioned. I suppose ill just show up to Bliss and see what happens then. Thanks all, ill post here and let you all know how it went. I'm supposed to be in the country from Jan 2nd -7th so i guess ill see!

I’d be down if you’re willing to meet first somewhere. I’ve been to some parties elsewhere where teaming up gets us through the door, but the key point is that bad behavior gets us BOTH kicked.

I would go on the 5th by yourself. Even thought it will be more expensive you will get a single male membership card so you can go back. If you go as a couple you will get a couple registration card so future visits would require same person or you would have to re register
