I have less of an issue with a 本指名 fee of ¥2000 than I do a ¥1000 写真指名 fee that’s probably photoshopped.

No official reports - but it's worth noting that the English page says that "We may refuse service if you can't speak Japanese at all" and it's repeated twice on the same page.

This is a classic TOFT scenario.
