Sorry, I was half-asleep when I replied to this earlier.

To make this more clear - I'm in the process of shifting things around within TAG and this will cause some issues with the 'Unread' marker which drives the count on the status bar that you see.
When I said that it wasn't going to be fixed, I was half serious since we'll spending about a week moving things around in [final] prep for v3 roll out. You'll probably notice other oddities until we're done.
