On more than one occasion during the past year or so, I have gotten what I called old-fashioned business cards. Just the other day an older Japanese man kindly gave me his meishi (名刺). It is in Japanese written vertically rather than horizontally. There is no English version on the other side.

What struck me as being really old-fashioned about the card was the fact that there is neither an email address nor a URL listed on it let alone a QR code. Yet, the card does list a fax number as well as a landline number. Of course, no mobile number is given. Frankly, the card looked liked something out of the 1980s.

Have others received cards like that recently?
