Yeah but you need to compare like for like. The soap i went to was a high end one and the girl was high ranked. So if you wanna compare her to a top but still young (ie twenties) sales guy at sony or Panasonic the salaries would be similar. However in general yes the average salaryman in tokyo gets around 7 million yen per year.

Other pros and cons: Pro: I am guessing you are not going to pay taxes on your income. Pro: The pay on an hourly basis is better than other unskilled jobs such as working at McDonalds. Con: You might get arrested and thrown in jail. Con: Your mother and father probably wouldnt be happy with your choice of career. Con: You might get assaulted or even murdered. You can pay taxes as an escort, but you may want to declare them under a different title such as masseuse.

While you may not need higher education for escorting, it's not an easy job. You're making it sound like anybody can do it. I've met girls who quit in less than week because they couldn't handle it, either because they weren't mentally ready or emotionally prepared for it.
