Hi,

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see the rating right at the main forum? You know there is this rating at the end of each review? I would like to be able to quickly look at the main forum, especially for the SL review to see if they worth a visit.

Better yet, maybe a statistics page where we show how many people are satisfied with each SL based on the review?

It could be useful to see upfront if a place is recommended or not but there was someone who made a scene in the past because he only scrolled down and read the recommended part (i suppose he just did a quick search for the area he was in) and he got mad that it was a massage + hj place and not more than that.
If something interests you enough, definitely read some reviews beforehand.

Also I don’t think there is such thing as good shops and bad shops, every shops have duds and gems. Of course some are more critical than others, but the hiring process may depend on certain things that Japanese care about more than the TAG crowd in some cases.

What if the letters are red in the title for do not repeat?

It has to work for all variations of display modes. (i.e night mode, day mode, etc.) If we were to do this, we'd add a 2nd tag -- such as "NG" in red for a no-repeat situation and just leave the rest alone.

Needs more thought, plate is full with work for new TAG as it is.

You could always go the Steam route. Mostly positive, mixed reviews and mostly negative. Just a thought.

But would that mean don’t repeat the shop or the girl?

So many variables though. After all, WALDT. Someone giving a low rating because they got a chubby (maybe someone else wants a chubby) or someone older than expected (some guys in their early 20’s complaining about the 30-something ‘milf’ that’s too old) kind of makes a quick reference rating system difficult without seeing why. At least in terms of the extremely horrible experiences I see people use ‘avoid’ or something similar in the title. But it’s still good to actually read why.

It really isn’t hard, nor does it take long, to just open a bunch of threads into new tabs (control-click or option-click) and just scroll to the rating.

As far as which soaplands to avoid in general though, the Yoshiwara soapland resource thread list in the first post has avoid warnings for certain shops in the additional notes section on the right.

Worth noting that even those shops have gotten some glowing reviews and have been what someone was looking for in some cases.

The point is to save time. Use case is when I want to see where else in Yoshiwara I should check out. Having a rating of the place at a glance will help.

Your use case pretty much proves the earlier points. You’re in a rush, pick a high rating place without reading, then get upset that its not what you wanted/expected.
Reviews are pretty subjective and are best appreciated in context.

Not sure it would be significant below a certain number of reviews but maybe something like the simple 1 to 5 scale of TripAdvisor , with average showed next to the shop/provider , would be a good idea?
Or maybe not... its true that tastes vary widely in p4p

If you want a quick soapland recommendation, maybe just post your budget and type of women you like and maybe some TAGgers can recommend a shop with that type or some individual good providers.

I’m happy that TAG is its own place and a very provider friendly review board. Both the management & veterans here are highly supportive and protective of any girl in the industry. It would be a shame if a similar rating system to that of TER (which doesn’t care about providers at all) would be implemented..

TER is so weird. You can’t get a 10 points rating if you don’t offer anal or “true bi”, which is doing MFM in their opinion. Stupid because to me “bi” would imply servicing women as well and that would make sense because if you reject women and couples you do not service all types of clients. But MFM is dangerous especially in a violent country like the US.
As for anal, not everyone wants to do it and it usually costs extra anyway so why should it be a requirement for a perfect rating? Really doesn’t make sense. It also seems that many guys just rate 10 stars in exchange for being approved on screening sites by the escorts they met.

I agree 100% and even anal would be dangerous with someone who doesn’t know what they are doing.. you could seriously get hurt. I’ve never been a big fan of anal play but in theory if I had offered it I would never offer it to a first time client & building up mutual trust would be a necessity.

True. One thing that also seriously puts me off is that they expect you to prepare yourself beforehand and think they can basically just go in during the session. Maybe that works for providers with enough practice but not for me.

Stumbled upon this, I wonder if the review score might have a chance to be a bit more complex. Some in scale, some in words, some Boolean.
Separate rating for the provider. for example: Was the provider friendly? how was the service? was the room tidy? did I get everything promised on the website? etc.
Separate rating for the establishment. for example: was the staff courteous? what was the state of the waiting room (+amenities) ? state of the girl's rooms
Also: did I get the provider I was looking for \ promised. Not bait and switch stories. Something like: I was looking for a plump milf (40+) for hj, but for an active JAV with FS. Also, was I happy with the result (as some attest that they just loved who they ended up with).
Eventually, will you keep visiting the provider, or keep using the establishment as a separate rating.

I guess it might be over summarizing the stories, but lord knows I keep reading through them anyway and I hate the way some of them turn me on. Some of them are VERY long, and it's kinda hard to read between the lines sometimes. Many write about all the small details they don't like, but end up with a "recommended, may repeat" with little information about things that actually matter.

I guess it's hard changing a rating habit that's been the same for years :) It might be fun, though.

I kinda like the current review format - Usually I'll check the top first for the location/price, then skip to the bottom to see if it's recommended or not. If its recommended, I go back up and start reading the review for the details if I'm interested in it.

That is exactly what I do. My suggestion is to display the recommendation on the main form itself, next to the review title.

I think rating works for love hotels (and hotels you can invite escorts) very well.
