Reasons for short periods of weak erections?

Okay, so I'm 47, very slim, doing jogging and other sports every week, climbing 14 floors everyday, don't smoke, don't drink, etc.

Still, from time to time, I have short periods (like 1 week or more) where I have no or non-noticeable morning erections coupled with weak erections during sex. Then, suddenly, after a while, things go back to normal with glorious (almost painful) morning erections and great erections during sex.

I know we're not robots and are subject to many factors such as stress, hormone levels, diet etc.

Still, as I can't find a pattern with this repetitive occurrences, I fail to put a finger on the most plausible cause.

Are you subject to such irregularities?
How do you manage it? (preferably natural methods)

This is basically the core of the reason. I mean, if it happens often enough maybe get yourself checked out by a doctor, but I'm pretty sure regular morning wood isn't something to be expected through middle age and beyond. It hasn't been for me, either. All sorts of things can affect it including diet and especially stress. Hard week at the job? Maybe the little captain isn't so hard that week.

Your overall health can have a big influence on how your equipment works. Short term factors like stress and fatigue I think are also culprits, especially if you don't have problems that often. And it could be a mental thing too.

I used to have major problems when I was a cigarette smoker and was overweight. Losing weight, switching to vapes and getting more fit helped a lot. I have poor circulation so I take vitamins, supplements and maintain a healthier diet. Lifting weights can also help.

Try supplements: Fish Oil with omega 3 & 6, Niacin, and Zinc. Fish oil helps with cholesterol, Niacin for capillaries, zinc for arteries... your testosterone levels are dropping as well, so lifting weights will help. Once you start the supplements, it may take some time, but you should notice a change in 2 - 4 weeks...also, it's better for you than blue pill...

Luckily not. Penis is not even a muscle. If it was that would be totally terrible. Because then it would actually get tired in a long session and also you'd get lactic acid buildup and soreness the next day!
 
The short answer is your getting old. Totally natural.

Everyone is, but that does not sound natural in his age yet.

I reckon that it's also the case.
I've noticed how lack of sex can put me in such a weak state.

I guess that the brain needs to be kept on sexual alertness by external triggers (I mean real sex) and that the lack of it make your whole system (brain/penis) kind of rot.
 
Apparently there's a correlation between endurance type training and lower libido. Although, if you've always done endurance stuff forever and didn't have problems before it's maybe not as relevant for you.

I run only during 40 minutes with short bursts of fast paced run.
More like HIIT than endurance.
 
Take a look at any supplements or meds you’re taking. I’m not asking which meds you take, if any, since privacy concerns, but do take a look at them yourself. Obviously the hormonal types can have sexual effects but also take a look at any prescription meds. Some meds (CNS depressants for example) can have sides that can affect performance, i.e. boner quality, and you may not even know it’s affecting you down there since the reason you take xxx med isn’t even directly related to sexual performance. And depending on half life and how many and how frequent you take it can cause what you’re seeing.

Personally, I have one as needed med for pain that I didn’t realize until much later affected boner quality and performance for the longest time. One pill hurting performance for a couple days, two and I’m screwed for the week. After realizing what’s been happening, I now try not to take it when I know I’ll be knocking boots. Of course things don’t always work out that way. Shoganai ne.

if it is low testosterone, try to get enough sleep, drink less, minimize stress, balanced diet, get some sun - vitamin D can boost testosterone levels.

I mean, if the other half wants to fool around every morning I have no problem performing, but it's not like when I was 18 years old and I had to wait fifteen minutes just to get soft enough to piss every morning. And, I don't use nicotine products (which is a vasoconstrictor, meaning less blood flow, meaning less boners), don't drink excessively, I lift weights six days a week, run six days a week, do intensive core exercises three days a week, and I'm generally in very, very good shape.

Google "tongkat ali." You can purchase it in many shapes and forms in Japan, particularly in the adult section. The pill boxes will usually feature a red tengu character with an extremely long nose. There are a number of brands so pick up a couple. Or, you can shop online at conventional supplement shops like Swanson Vitamins, which I used to order from while living in Japan and they charged a very reasonable shipping rate. Tongkat is basically an herb from southeast Asia and it naturally boosts your testosterone levels.

Back when I was about 27, partially as a joke but also because I wanted to test the effect on my weightlifting, I picked up a bottle and started taking it daily. By the end of the week, my face was getting oily, I was growing zits, my already bad temper went to hair-trigger explosive status and I was horny all fucking day long--basically, I was 16 years old again. I was so pissed off and horny at the end of the day I started boosting my daily runs, one day running so hard and fast for a few miles that I screwed up my knee. And even when I got home I still had to rub one out a couple of times a night (I was single at the time, great timing) just to calm down and sleep.

So if that's what it did to me then, when I was still near my peak testosterone levels, imagine what it could do to you?

You see all these stupid commercials stateside for products like "Ageless Male," which is a pill supplement that supposedly boosts your free testosterone levels and makes you horny and punchy again. Well, they all basically contain the same thing--Tongkat, Tribulus and probably Horny Goat Weed. I'm telling you, just try it. If it works anywhere near as well for you as it did for me, you'll be back to fucking your wife, girlfriend, moderately effeminate Japanese boy at the bar or your favorite tube sock on a daily basis.

I would agree with this. Assuming that your boner decline is related to age, there are a few things you can do to delay the inevitable. First is lots of exercise, both aerobic and aneaerobic. Running and lifting. The next is diet. Lots of green veggies, low fat meat and no fried food and reduced carbs. If you need to lose weight, then lose weight. Just think of yourself as a preditor in the jungle. Ignore bears for the moment as they eat mostly bugs. But my point is that you should get used to being hungry all the time. If you eat until you are full, you are not doing it right. Always be a little bit hungry, and eat only, green lean and whole grain. Alcohol, caffiene and nicotine are your pecker's enemies, but A Man Must Have Some Booze. The Buta likes fine craft beer in moderation and Opus One. Ginseng, Tongat Ali and Yohimbine are all worth a try, but be careful. Yohimbine works great for increasing the Buta libido and boner hardness scale, but it can have some side effects if you take too much. Suppliments and herbs are interesting to try, but I dont think they represent a long term solution. Viagra and the like do the trick for some people, but it gives me a headache which I hate. Definitely agree, be careful with the Yohimbine bark. That stuff can give you awful stomach problems if you overdo it. Ginseng is also supposed to be good, but I've always seen results, for better or worse, from Tongkat. Also, ever since Viagra lost its patent and generic sildenafil is now cheaply available, I always keep a bottle of the small, 20mg doses around in case I want to get shitfaced with the other half and still be able to stay rock hard for the after party. I realized once I hit my 30s that I could no longer drink like it's 1999 and still fuck like it's 1999 afterwards, but these new generics have changed the entire game. I think the 100/150mg doses that Viagra was coming in might cause some of those unwanted side effects, but with the tiny 20mg pills I can pop one (or two, if I'm really plastered) and I get some excellent results without the headache, stomachache and stuffy nose associated with the stronger stuff. Not sure what the availability is in Japan, but here stateside once you've got your prescription (which you can get online now) you can pick up generic sildenafil for $2/pill or even less at your local pharmacy if you don't mind going in person.

And I have used panax ginseng too. Yohimbine definitely boosts your libido, but it can make you nervous. It also made my sweat really stinky. Easily solved with deoderant, but that stuff is definitely having some kind of an effect on your hormones or glands or whatever it is that makes us horny men. I really dont like the idea of using Viagra or the other drugs regularly, especially if you are taking it after heavy drinking. Seems to me like asking for trouble. Liver, kidneys or something of that nature.

Learn something every day! Yeah, I had played with the yohimbe bark supplements some years ago and the side effects were pretty bad. Didn't realize the Yohimbine was a different animal. Sounds like it plays with your endocrine glands, which I think will happen with increased stress or anxiety, hence the smell. And I have no doubt regular use of sildenafil or any of those substances, particularly with alcohol, can be a little dangerous. To be honest, I only use the low dose pills while I'm on vacation, which is pretty much the only time I'm partying hard and still want to fully utilize my fancy hotel room king bed. Otherwise, it's the standard, stone-cold sober "Hey, OK if I bust a quick one before work?" deal in the mornings.

Getting old sucks, for sure.
 
The problem with anything extra you take, like testosterone, is your body will go ''hey, there is enough of this stuff now, let's stop producing it". And then you end up worse than before or taking that for the rest of your life.

It’s all a dead end. No matter what you do there are repercussions. We all die. And very very few of us die at the age of 90 with an erection. But we can try. That’s what makes us human.
