I know these work for gaijin and black gents as I have a few US black friends here that do pretty well there and their Japanese is pretty basic. I think there is one in Shibuya, I forget the name though. Google.co.jp is your friend.
I personally have never gone to one of these as I enjoy hunting on the street. Give it a try, I would love to hear a report from those who visit these kinds of places....or maybe I can just search this thread.
