Regarding a solid and cheap ISP

What you can get will depend on where you live and how the house or building is setup.
Obviously, a house, you can get mostly whatever you want.
Apartments or Mansions are a bit different.
But, anyway, I've had NTT Flets Hikari with OCN (ISP). It has been rock solid for the entire time I've had them, which spans nearly 10 years. I pay ~3,800 yen for OCN and the NTT line charges. I don't have the latest bill in front of me, but I pay 8,300 yen/month for Internet, telephone and TV service all combined. (You don't have to get all of that, it's just an example.)
There are cheaper options out there but the quality of the actual bandwidth you get leaves a lot to be desired.

Cheers for that helpful info. 3,800 Sounds about right. I am in a mansion so I am hoping this is valid. Will research on that link.
