Rope Night at Bliss 18/12/15

Tonight is Shibari and Rope night at Bliss, anyone interested in going?
I'm seriously thinking about being there, might fly solo, might have a BDSM friend come with me to just see how things are.
Not an official meet up or anything, but if you're lucky you might be able to spot me, and if you're really lucky well...

Rope night tonight was a lot of fun!
I got to try suspension play for the first time, I only was up for a few seconds since my elbow started grinding and because I didn't know the person suspending me I wanted down right away, didn't want to damage or pop anything.
It was so cozy warm in there, I was really comfortable and I could probably have stayed longer but my friend needed to go home and I wanted to walk her to the station because she felt unsafe in Kabukicho and uncertain of where her station was.
It looked pretty busy but I feel like it was more ladies that guys tonight, granted maybe that's because my friend group was there skewing the number a little. Chatted with three guys, none of whom really interested me but I was just there for the rope.

I will absolutely try to go for another rope night again, that was totally worth the trip into town for.

Now I’m wishing I was there. Out of curiosity, isn’t the rope a bit too rough on your skin? I know if I was bound in a rope it would be itchy and super uncomfortable.

I went to similar event last year but it was just shibari by a master on the ground, no suspension. How much rope (turns and twists etc...) did you get? The whole shebang or just enough to be suspended?

Well it depends on the rope, well treated Jute that's been used a lot is very supple and nice feeling, I've been tied by a few people who use their rope with quite a lot of frequency and treat it very well so even just by touch it's a very soft rope, but untreated Jute can be quite dry and itchy, but sometimes that's a feeling you're going for if you're doing more torturous rope play then sensual.
Cotton rope or synthetic is also an option if you have sensitive skin, plus it's easier to get bright fun colours with cotton/synthetic, but often it's more of a slippery rope so using it for suspension isn't a good thing because the knots might tighten too strongly, or might slide into the wrong position. But for ground play or just asthetic work it's fine.

The master last night just went as far as someone was comfortable with, so the first girl just had a top harness and bottom harness done, and then was untied, the second was tied and flogged and then had her nipples tortured for a while, but it was all ground play. The third was partially suspended on one leg, and I unfortunately didn't finish my suspension. I had my body harness (Which I was told by quite a few people made my tits look great) and then a leg harness, but once my second leg was in the air my elbow caught at an odd angle and the bone started to get a grinding feeling and since I didn't know the master I started to feel panic instead of relaxed as I usually do, so he put me down and untied me after that.
It was still loads of fun, but that's why rope play, especially when suspension is involved, requires a lot of trust and communication, maybe I just needed more top support, or a few moments to wiggle my elbow into a better position, and with a partner I've worked with or trusted I could communicate better, or relax more (I was probably getting too tight which was half the problem, midway through the tie my friends went downstairs to the playroom and once I noticed my "zen" state I usually get when being tied broke so I started to get stressed out)

Since the rope events are on Saturdays I might make it my regular Saturday night hangout when they're doing the rope event.
I'll have to buy my own Virgin Killer sweater, since there were two other people wearing them from the costume rack I tried one on and I found it really sexy and comfortable so I'm going to have to get my own.
