You should really read the posts here before asking questions that have been answered million times.
Hey , still cheaper than an Internet cafe and safer than the park
http://disposableworkers.com/?page_id=37
If you stay there you'll have plenty of company apparently

Are even the cheap, shithole/studio apartments this much total when you first rent them out? I thought that I would only need like 2 or 3 grand tops to rent out various cheap apartments in Tokyo?
15,000yen for one week is pretty expensive x4 and that is way above the 30,000yen a month that oLUXo mentioned about. I know that each internet cafe has different prices and deals.
@oLUXo Do you happen to know which internet cafes only charge 30,000yen a month? I assume that these long-term residents pay day by day or weekly and not monthly.
It is funny because there is a documentary about Japanese people living in internet cafes and I don't remember them even asking if these places allow you to pay monthly...if I made a documentary about this topic, I would have asked more questions to get answers that would help people attain the knowledge to help them find a situation like this. The documentary goes out of its way to make this living situation miserable and to be avoided at all costs...which I don't blame them for doing, but at the same time, it doesn't help people that actually need to live in a place like that haha.
I'm doing online work with my brother (I won't say what) but there is a good chance my monthly salary will increase within a few months, which would help me out a lot.
My understanding is that it is 2, 2, 1 for reikin, deposit and agency fee in Tokyo. Has that changed?
There are quite a few backpacker hostels in a Tokyo now that only charge ¥2,000 per night - so this would avoid having to sleep in the park or having to put down a large amount of cash to rent somewhere.
TJB, sleeping in the park is a stupid idea and you know it. You need to save a couple of hundred grand before you come to Tokyo. You need at least that much of a cushion before whatever sad-sack bottom of the barrel English school you end up at pays you your first pathetic paycheck. For the life of me, I really can't understand why you can't save a small amount of money. You are in Shizuoka. You are white. You speak native American English. What the fuck is the problem? Have a nice day.

If you have job interviews, you should try to organize them to be on the same day. You should take the train up for a day or two and then go home and wait for offers or rejections in the comfort of your home. Wear a suit. Wear a clean shirt. Brush your teeth, and for God’s sake, try very hard not to say anything stupid or weird. Stupid and weird is great on TAG, but it will cause you problems in real life. I do hope you get a job and get whatever it is that you want. I hate to sound like an an asshole. Well, not really.Well, I have more job interviews lined up, so I will see how these go. You have a nice day too.
A 50K a month sharehouse would be significantly cheaper. There are quite a few backpacker hostels in a Tokyo now that only charge ¥2,000 per night - so this would avoid having to sleep in the park or having to put down a large amount of cash to rent somewhere.
Remember that you called yourself all those things in your own post. I haven't said anything rude or insulting to you for a long time and I'm willing to put the past behind us and get along...I doubt that you would want to do that though.
I do, seriously. And my offer still holds by the way!

Well, you are the asshole pig step uncle I never had and I know deep down, you care about me and my fucked up ways.
I just offered to squash any arbitrary beef I had with Frenchy and he just deletes his comment haha. I see that Mike H still has a burning hatred for me. Hey Mike, can we finally put the past behind us?
Anyway, at least you and I can get along a lot of the time step uncle Buta.
He didn’t delete anything... and he was telling Buta off a little for being overly harsh with you to boot.I just offered to squash any arbitrary beef I had with Frenchy and he just deletes his comment haha

Slow your roll a little.
Slow your roll a little.
Ok I was both friendly and sarcastic. And I hereby agree, in front of many witnesses here of the highest morality , to put our history behind. And its ok to prefer the Buta, im not jealousNope, he wasn't trying to be friendly to me. He was being sarcastic and refused to agree to put our history behind him. Yes Buta is harsh, but he is still friendly and helpful quite often.
