I'd like it to be passed retroactively, all those auction records would make for a lot of quick turnaround in the courtroom.

Wouldnt be surprised.
A few opportunistic c*nts getting criminal records because they made money from idiots can get paraded on the news to satiate the masses and stop everyone asking questions of the government.

Masks are becoming available. I wondered what the frenzy was at a drugstore, and it turned out that they had masks available. By April the mask shortage should ease since Sharp and other companies are producing them. There are masks available from Taiwan and unaffected parts of China, but they can’t be shipped. To be honest, there isn’t really a shortage of masks, just availability. If you have good luck, you might be able to get some masks. Keep an eye out!

Of course, a mask itself will not prevent the spread of COVID-19 as a wet mask will not provide you with much protection. In that case, avoid touching your face, nose, and eyes. Keep your hands washed and avoid the infected.

I didn't think twice about canceling my recent trip. It's a fifty fifty chance of getting the virus or not and depending upon where you plan to visit in Japan as some areas are harder hit than others. My friend haven't done anything differently so if they aren't worried and live there, then I shouldn't be as well. Didn't affect me one bit to go see a couple of escorts while I was there. I had a swell time as usual. Wish I could say I got laid 2 for 2, but 1 of 2 was good enough. Although the escort that didn't put out was so tight I would've enjoyed it immensely like screwing a virgin again (barely could get a finger in her when dripping wet).

So my answer is go for it and don't cancel your trip. As far as I know, things haven't drastically escalated since I left last week.

Are restaurants, shops and bars running as usual and still friendly to foreigners? And what about the soaps? Didn't someone say hisyo was closed to foreigners now? If attractions and museums are closed, that really does put a dampener on things for tourists.
My thoughts of cancelling my trip had less to do with catching the virus and more to do with whether I was going to be able to have fun. I guess being stuck in a hotel room all day could still be fun if you had an escort with you.

Bottom line... You're going to find mixes experiences everywhere. Your everyday, normal stuff is operating normal. I've heard of various touristy type places closing down or limiting their operations.
The adult scene... again, mixed feedback... but business overall is down across the board, so they can't be so picky about the clients. One of my contacts at regular delivery health shop sad they are only getting a few clients a day vs. the hundreds they'd normally see. (divided among ~30 providers) Some of the ladies in the waiting room are going home with zero work.

You can still have fun, but just have some backup plans just in case the first idea doesn't pan out. The TAG providers are accepting appointments as far as I know. Only one has pulled her ad down for the time being. Other agencies and shops are trying to grab business and I don't think they're being picky about the clients.

I believe this will have a lasting effect on tourism in general for a while to come...

Yes, it’s bad. I received yesterday separate text messages from my soapland regular and an agency girl, both of whom lament the lack of clients because of the coronavirus outbreak. One of these ladies disclosed that she can’t pay her rent this month because business has been so slow.

Every industry is feeling some sort of strain from all of this and it's probably going to be awhile before things get back to any form of normalcy.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but.. Yes it’s obviously slow, but I don’t think any escort lives paycheck to paycheck.. unless they are in debt, are paying for hospital bills, are terrible at making financial decisions etc etc. If you’ve been in the business for a few years, lacking income for a couple of months shouldn’t be a huge strain.

Personally, this is not my sole income and since the next three months are going to be pretty much dead, I’ll focus on other projects. It’s a shame because I was already away for a couple of months before the outbreak happened.

True, but I didn’t have the heart to ask the lady why she’s in the red. I wish that I could help her.
Anyway, I simply suggested that she hunker down at this time and assess other viable sources of fresh funds.
It’s really good to know that you’ve planned ahead and have other means of income, @Simonka.

I think you are kinda in an "international escort bubble" here. I think many of the providers here in Japan treat that as a regular source of income. Obviously there are people who built a reserve, save up for something, but like in any other profession, a lot of people don't save that much. And maybe they also just don't make as much as you in the first place.
Obviously building that reserve would be the smart thing to do ...

I know all kinds of working girls that are barely living at subsistence level who would be devastated by a sudden and long-lasting downturn in business. Personally, I think for every working girl that has some savings and a family they could go back home to, there's another that has nothing and no one.

These girls don't have several months' worth of money stashed away in an account somewhere and just like the rest of us, I'm sure they have bills that need to be paid beyond just a hotel room and a cell phone. I'm glad you made smart decisions and set up something good for the long-term but I know lots of women didn't and will suffer from this.

I didn’t mean to belittle someone else’s earnings. I just don’t have much sympathy for complaining about not being able to cover your monthly expenses in an attempt to garner sympathy from your regular client or begging for gifts & rent money on Twitter.. That’s just unprofessional.
And even Zara pays more than 200.000 yen per month for their store clerks. If they are only interested in doing sex work, there are online SW options. There’s no need to sit in a DH waiting room being desperate.

Yeah, exactly...if you talk to a few girls you'll notice that their lives are all very very different. Some are still in university or working towards some work degree, others are working full time and doing it on the side for some extra income, others do it full time. I think it heavily depends on your current life situation and of course also in which segment of the industry you are working.
