SB and Vacation trips?

I offered a SB a flight and tuition for a language school if she accompanied me on a work trip. She declined since there wasn't enough time to plan, but that she might be interested in the future.

Granted that negotiations are SB situation specific, but what are the "usual" arrangements for something like this? She is a part time student and living at home, so time away is possible without a loss of employment income. I offered flight, lodging, tuition, and living expenses. However, at that point, a hefty daily allowance seems slightly extreme. Does treating it like a vacation seem reasonable? Does anybody support more than usual for the vacation, or leave compensation as usual?

I don’t think theres any rule. Personally I pay for the vacation but no allowance in addition. The lady is free to come with me or not and if its just for the money then that’s not really a great sign the vacation will be fun. I’d better be with someone else who actually enjoys travelling with me , even just a friend. Im only doing it with long-time SBs though. Of course if its just a newly met one she would probably be reluctant to go with a stranger paying only for the travel and accomodation.

I’m not in a position where I can regularly take vacations with an SB, but have taken overnight trips. Of course I pay for everything and might drop some reasonable additional spending money if there is time where we’re doing different things. But since I would personally be really unhappy if I were asked for even more additional allowance despite all of that, I would only travel with someone I have an ongoing monthly arrangement with (and also for whom the trip wouldn’t represent an opportunity loss, such as needing to take time off of work). The point is really that whether I would take someone on a trip is whether the relationship I have with the person is one where she is charging me based on time spent (there’s nothing wrong with that, but I’m not going out of my way for someone with whom that is the only basis of the relationship), or one where we actually have a connection and I also help her with bills, etc.

That may be slightly different from your situation, where you are asking her to come along on a work trip. But you’re also offering language school tuition - maybe you could just give that as cash instead?

I haven't gone on a vacation trip with my SB yet. How do you deal with the potentially necessary disclosure of your and her real name, address etc.?

I only went on vacation with SBs whom I knew enough so that they were ok to transmit passport info. Again I would strongly discourage going on a trip with a SB (or anyone , really) if you don’t know each other well already

I just thought of tuition as a mutually beneficial enticement. I know that she would like it, and it would give her some things to do while I'm working. The proposed language school is near where I'd be travelling to. I've got some flexibility in timing of travel, so I'd try to match it up with short term courses.

I haven't gone yet either, but I'm not so worried about disclosure of info with this one. However, I'm also not hiding my relationships either, so there isn't much concerns about being outed.

I have a friend who is a long term escort that knows personal info on me and vice versa. On the flip side there are others that I wouldn't want them know anything about me.
I suppose it's all person specific on case by case basis.

This is what I am hoping for actually. More of a vacation and play time (vs "work" time).
 
Overseas trips where you’re covering air fare, accom, meals, shopping etc, I don’t pay an allowance.
I’ve had success and failures.

Bit for an overnight trip to a hot spring etc, I’d give an allowance or take them shopping.

yes , agreed . If its just a day trip or overnight I pay too, its just a date in this case

Slip a mint into her mouth, but not if she’s gonna blow you.
 
Adding my two cents. I have traveled fewtimes with my SBs, in Japan (5), Asia (2) and the USA (1). Every SB is different. It depends a lot on her personal situation. I usually cover the travel expenses and some shopping and souvenirs. Only on one occasion did I give money to a girl (200K), as compensation because if she hat to stop working for a few days. I think it depends on the type of trip. If the destination is attractive, the flight is on business and the accommodation is a Hyatt or similar, there will be dozens of SB volunteers :D

Thanks. Well just common sense and still you could end up wanting to beat the crap out of her (and/or vice versa) after just a few days so maybe not so great advice after all
