Moderator Edit: This message was posted as a warning about a inappropriate experience with a provider allegedly from Japan Escort Erotic Massage Club in Fall 2019* (we are confirming the date again)
--------------------------------
90 Minutes - 31000 Yen + Hotel (Shinjuku)

I called around 9:00pm and the agent said there were no girls available around so he said he'll bring someone from Shibuya. I got there with the help of the agent after calling a few places.

I paid for the room and told the agent I was at the hotel. GirI knocks, she gets in and I pay her cash. After that I got the usual EMJ service, she undressed me, showered me and she told me to wait 5 mins while she prepared the room.

I got on the bed and we talked as I got the massage, here I committed the first mistake: I said that I was traveling alone and that I was leaving in 4 days, and God knows what else. At this point I forgot this was sexual massage til I flipped and got the testicular massage with a corresponding handjob.

She gets the bathtub full and...

The scam attempt starts: She tells me to shower myself and to get into the tub and to not get out until we call you. The we call you threw me off so I removed the oil in 60 secs and got out of the tub and the bathroom. Then I saw my wallet outside by the bed and some money next to it so I picked up quickly, looked inside, nothing was missing and subsequently I got dressed in less than a minute while still wet as I felt uneasy, said bye and took off.

Next day I got a message from the agent telling me the therapist got home without the money... then it clicked me that I was scammed the previous night by being given money (aka making me a thief, let's work this out)

The agent says that if we keep things this way the embassy might call me, obviously in this case the police are the ones supposed to contact me, not the embassy and this made it obvious that this was a scam. At this point the agent is texting and calling nonstop but I am not answering his calls, I do keep texting. I said that I don't want the girl to get in trouble so I'll pay again if needed (I was mentally all over the place and I had not connected the dots yet) and the agent says "sure, where are you at? we'll pick it up" at this point I am pissed off from the stress a 1.5hrs massage is giving me and this guy wants to meet in person to do who knows what. He keeps calling and texting asking for my passport number, so at this point I had to options:

1- Turn off my phone and get a free massage (I was paranoid I was being followed or she took a photo of my passport when I was in the shower)

2- Pay somehow and call it a day

I went for #2, at this point my intention was to not owe anything to these people and to pay for what I got. I insisted in several methods and at the end we agreed on a debit card after he supposedly asked his manager. The agent complaint on how via debit card he has to charge me more because there are taxes implications but for me this was the only way.

I paid, it was over, he sent me a "thank you for visiting us, please come back to...." message. Anxiety, anger and stress through the roof, a couple days later I was glad to leave Japan (very unlike myself.)

I am pretty pissed and disappointed on how the most vanilla, supposedly safe and gaijin service out there turned out to be another scam. I did research and this supposed to be one of the safest bet, I was ready to ignore and walk away from the touts in Kabuchiko but not this for sure. I was pretty frugal during the trip and I planned to spend the remaining $$ in then the next for days... their loss.

PS: Credit for the agent, he was very very nice prior to the scam attempt.
PS2: The girl that arrived is not listed in the official website. I checked shortly after this happened.

Ok, this is technically bypassing the review approval function. I'm going to reformat this into a non-review format.

Was this really Fall 2019, or did you meant 2020?

This seems odd, as the girls will always ask for payment up front.

I agree - I'd like to confirm if he meant 2020 or 2019, but it's looking like 2019 based on how it's written. If that's the case, it's been a full year and out of scope.

Apologies for leaving that detail out.

I paid her at the room right after she got in, then the service started, and towards the end of the service when I was in the shower I got out and saw my wallet with money around it. I see it as she if she was putting my payment back into my wallet but I did not stay in the tub long enough for me to not notice.

Beginning of Dec 2019, originally from a country with 2 seasons where winter = after Xmas :)

I know it has been a shitty year but last I checked it was still October 2020 now. Which would make me guess you mean December 2019 which is 9+ months away and would seem a bit late to warn anyone.

I keep mixing the dates up, I already did an edit. To be very honest writing this gives me a ton of anxiety and recapping everything minute by minute is not easy as silly this sounds. I'll edit it again to reflect Dec 2019.

This can be a tool used for a learning experience for anyone else that comes along.

1) Payment is always in cash, up front before the service begins.
2) NEVER USE A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD. EVER.
3) The embassy (of any country) won't do jack in this situation.
4) Inline with #2 NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSPORT/ID INFO to shops/agencies unless it's LEGALLY requested by the POLICE.
5) Use a love hotel and bring the ABSOLUTE minimum amount of personal belongings. Don't bring an over abundance of cash or material that can be lost or stolen. Put all of your other belongings in a coin locker near the station or hotel.
6) Don't leave your wallet or other personal belongings out in the open - be sure that they are put away in a safe place. Ideally, a locked pouch of your bag, coat or in a secure spot that cannot be easily disturbed.
7) If the provider that shows up, isn't who was promised or expected, you can turn them away despite whatever threats someone sends you. (If there is a cancellation fee/policy, please understand it before booking!)

If this is true - then you should have put your wallet away and not leave it laying around. They'll never volunteer to return the money, that just doesn't happen. Some providers collect the money right away and put it away securely, some will leave it on the table in plain view. The best way to do it is to put the exact amount in a prepared envelope and hand it to the provider or leave it on the table (if requested) in plain view. That way, there is absolutely zero risk or chance of misunderstanding unless you didn't prepare the exact amount or overpaid. (tip: they probably will see the overpaid part as a tip, many people do it...)

I only have used Japan Escort Erotic Massage club once and it was quite pleasant service. Guy at the phone was very nice and a gentleman in every way. Very polite and professional!

I am not saying that things like that aren't true, just that I believe is very rare.

I use Japan Escort girl club frequently, is a "sister shop" of JEEMC. My experience using JEGC has been very satisfying, that's why I use their services at least once a month or every 2 months.
Fortunately, I have never experienced any issues regarding payment or money.

As TAG Manager said, always pay in cash! Almost immediately as the girl enter the room give her the money preferably in a plain envelope, I kindly request the girl to count the money in front of me so there will be no "missing money".

Although is rare that a girl will steal from you, always keep your valuable things close to you and not at plain sight.

It's odd that JEEMC asked you or have access to your passport or personal ID (copy or photo) as you can even use a fake name (alias). I am registered at JEGC with a name that isn't even close to my real name!

Anyways, I believe we all learn from our mistakes, and TAG Manager's advices are very valuable!

I read this several times ...... and it doesn't make any sense.

Pulling bits of the story together it seems you somehow left the hotel after your massage with all the cash you originally had when you arrived at the hotel - somehow the cash you gave the girl ended up back in your wallet - and then the next day you paid the correct fee by debit card?

It sounds like the provider simply forgot the payment, the agency called to get it and he freaked out for no reason.

Yeah but I don't think a legit shop would tell him bullshit about informing the embassy or asking for his passport or whatever all that was... But either way, the OP definitely freaked out too much

I have never been asked for my passport or any ID. I have used the same shop before and it seems like as a general rule, the girl calls the shop and confirm that she has entered the hotel, room number and THE PAYMENT!

As I said in a previous post, I am a regular customer at JEEMC "sister shop" Japanese Escorts Girl Club (JEGC) and all my encounters have passed without any issues, nice and smoothly.

I tend to agree with what others have said, that it sounds like the provider forgot to take the payment and then they called him. I imagine that communication difficulties might have had them mention embassy or whatever.

JEEMC is (I think) a sister shop with JFF (Japanese Fetish Femdom) and there was a provider I visited more than a few times. One time, we got to it, and then, as we were getting dressed, I said oh, I didn't pay you yet and gave her the envelope I prepared (I like to put it in a cute kozukai envelope). She was super relieved that I remembered as she had forgot. I asked what would have happened if I didn't pay and she said that usually, they will call the number and gently remind them that they haven't paid (this is Japan, after all) I imagine that if this were a foreigner, they would be in a state of high tension trying to call.

WIth this in mind, I think it might be better to retitle the post in some way (though I have not good suggestion) I don't believe that there was a scam attempt here and it's unfair to the shop to suggest that there was.

How is this supposed to be a scam? If it’s a scam the girl would have to take all your money from your wallet instead of returning it. This doesn’t make any sense at all.

However I can understand your fear. The guy on the phone sounds like Yakuza to me too lol. Does anyone know if the owner of this place is yakuza?

Nobody is ever going to admit that. :p
They'll say they are not and have rules against members of those groups to use their services.... but.....
Even if they aren't owned by those groups, they are certainly influenced by them.

Generally speaking do you think this place is safe?

Define safe?

Will you get robbed or hurt? Probably not.
Will you get bait & switched? Possibly.
Is it a terrible service? Probably not.
Would they be a first choice for a close friend? Nope.

The biggest problem we have with these places is the fact that they put 'escort' in their names and ads, etc.
The western world that speaks English generally knows what an Escort is and people using the service don't always read the fine print.
When you put the "elite escort" label on a service that has a base cost of 14,000 yen, it just doesn't jive.
14,000/16,000 yen gets you a GND type and there's nothing wrong with that, it's a perfect target area for people want the easiest route for some sort of experience.

Last time I suspected that JFF girl drugged me via the anal lube for pegging. I had heart palpitation after the session. I couldn’t sleep that whole night because when I lied down, the heart palpitation get worse. Do you think this is possible for the girl to drug me? I posted about this last time.

No, it isn't. You're being paranoid.
