Sexually Transmitted Disease (std) Talk

PSA: Please use caution when doing any skin to skin service!

I feel like we're hearing more about STD infections as of late, so we want to encourage you to protect yourself as much as possible. I'm fully aware that people are opting for uncovered FS, BBBJ, Anal, etc and I think some people will get bitten in the ass by taking such a risk.

Please get yourself tested for common STD's if you notice anything out of the ordinary.

Thanks for your consideration and detailed attention to preventing the spread of STD's.

even though the women are regularly tested

The other point to consider is that even with monthly testing, there is a window of several weeks where an STD could be active and undetected. Protect yourself.

I think I've mentioned it in the past, but since contracting a fairly minor, but pesky STI in the past, I always go covered for anything I do P4P-wise.

I contracted molluscum about 6 years ago back in my home country after getting a bbbj from an escort. I'm that window, I saw two escorts, so I couldn't be sure which escort I contracted it from. These white dots started appearing on my Johnson. It was first misdiagnosed as genital warts from a General family clinic I went to. I decided to get a second opinion, so I went to my original family doctor, which recommended me to a specialist. My appointment was a few weeks later, so I went to a sex clinic the following week. He identified it as molluscum, and froze all of the buggers off. I also got a full test at the same time which I was apparently clean.

About a week later, the same dots started appearing on my face. Since I was already set to see a specialist, I decided to see what he said. He confirmed it was Molluscum, and recommended that I take care of it by taking a toothpick to all of the affected areas, as well as throwing out all of my towels, which is how he assumed it spreaded.

So after 6 months I finally got rid of it. But in that time, I'm going into work, meeting people everyday with these white fuckers all over my face. All for a bbbj or two which probably lasted 10 mins. Fuck that shit.

I know there are guys who talk about how they've never contracted a single thing from years of mongering, but I keep everything covered now. Just not worth the hassle. Especially now that I have an SO.

Thing is, that alcohol wipe kills off the "good" bacteria on your dick too, and can lead to chronic infections including fungal ones. Speaking from personal experience here.

It's a double edged sword.
Not really in my experience. I used to bring 70-80% ethyl alcohol in a small spray bottle with me when I visited bathhouses in China. The worst I experienced from consistently dousing myself with this burning and very painful application was some redness a day or 2 after when done frequently. Never got any infections, just moderate irritation.

It might be useful to have a sticky post at the beginning of this thread that would indicate:
- common symptoms of principal STD's
- where to get tested in Tokyo (and may be in other main Japanese cities)
- Anonymous/not anonymous testing -> what info is asked from you
- Gaijin friendly (ie can you do it if you only speak english)
- cost (do they offer a TAG discount  ?)
- How it is done (blood test, saliva, ...)
- What STD are tested (do they offer all in one package or do you have to choose particular STD's)
- How long do you have to wait for the results
- Are they available online (if you are going back home far away it would be useful)
- If you are positive will the Center/Clinic prescribe you medicines or do you have to go to see a doctor outside
- How do you warn the provider/her agency/TAG members to prevent the spread of the infection

This would be highly useful for visitors and foreigners living in Japan

That was how it was explained to me directly by more than one doctor. Bacteria levels on the body aren't MP bars that automatically recharge over time. An imbalance in one caused by overuse or incorrect use of otherwise safe products can have permanent consequences for your internal and external bacterial levels. Chronic yeast infections are most commonly caused by an incorrect pH balance in the mucous membranes which are regulated a by certain species of beneficial bacteria. Kill enough of these and it becomes incredibly hard for them to recover and they can be permanently dominated by other bacteria which create ideal conditions for the fungus which causes Thrush.

The body has no automatic control over other living creatures inside it. Otherwise fecal transplants wouldn't be needed.

Yes, sorry if my post sounded like I view good bacteria as magical MP that always recharges. Ethyl alcohol should definitely be used in moderation as overuse would definitely result in permanent damage to a degree. I also agree with you that people with chronic fungal infections or immune disorders end up with them after they have damaged their pH balance and immune system in general.

I'm really curious was the community thinks about herpes. It does seem like one of the only stds that proper use of a condom does not really effectively protect.

I have had no symptoms but I can't help thinking the back of my head I am asymptomatic carrier of the virus. There doesn't seem to be anywhere in Japan where you can get a blood test doe herpes.

I am worried about this relatively new zika virus bs. I'm cool with all people, but I do feel a little nervous due to a lot of Brazilians coming into Japan...because that is zika central right now. It is scary that it can be spread sexually. I wonder if people in Japan have been getting infected with zika. I will be researching more about it.

Just don't let those Brazilians come into you. Or if they definitely want to then borrow them a condom. That should keep you in the safe zone.

LOL! Well, I wold be referring to say me having sex with Brazilian women. There is actually this really hot Brazilian woman who owns this bar that I am sort of friends with. She is the only Brazilian bar owner in Shizuoka City and she is busty and curvy as hell. Her name is Grace and her place is Club Grace's Art Show here in downtown Shizuoka City.

I just got one of these tests done here yesterday. The problem is they tell you minimal information if you don't have sores to test. The blood tests here are vague in explaining if it's hsv-1 or hsv-2. It's the hsv-2 I'm concerned about since hsv-1 is fairly benign with 50% US population having it.

I was working at a doctors office back in 2009 when I first got this test and my hsv-1 level antibodies were slightly elevated. It freaked me out because i had very few long-term partners and never had a ONS. I talked to the doctor I worked with and he asked one question if I ever had sores, I said no, and he said not to worry about it. The next time it showed no presence.

Did you mean your HSV-1 or HSV-2 levels were up? As you most probably know HSV-1 is mainly not sexually transmitted so the number of partners is not really relevant with it.

Any doctor can get you a blood test for it if you ask.

Hsv-1.

The majority of folks have HSV1 (foreigners anyway). It can get picked up in childhood and is with you for life. Just a matter of watching for outbreaks. According to WHO, 3.7bn of the world has it. Therefore that is not the one to be concerned about.

Ok, so it is my birthday soon and a sex friend I have known for a while gave me unprotected oral. About 2 months ago she tested negative for chlamydia, gonorrhea and all the other lesser common STD's in a standard oral test...yet I'm getting the same gurgling, upset stomach symptoms I got last time I was with her...what the hell is going on? Seriously?

I know for a fact she hasn't hooked up with anyone else since because she told me so with a really serious face and I believe her...but I don't understand how she is positive since the last time I saw her? I was with another woman besides her and I thought this other woman infected me for sure and I took antibiotics to clear it up my symptoms and possible infection (didn't test for STD's but requested medication) and I suggested she get tested and she tested negative for everything...wtf?

There must be some new strain of chlamydia that is able to remain undetected by STD tests because this is just too strange. People will often say that "std's don't cause gurgling, upset stomach" but that is definitely bullshit because every single time I have contracted chlamydia (5 times whoop! whoop! ridiculous I know) I have had the same symptoms with my stomach before being tested positive for chlamydia.

I can't be the only one here in Japan experiencing this shit. Is there anyone on here that has ever had these stomach symptoms from any STD infection before? I know it isn't just anxiety.

I know it isn't just anxiety.

Then maybe you are just allergic to her? Though if it was anxiety over possible or impossible STD how would you know it's just anxiety? Because I know guys who have got swollen glands in neck just by the thought they had managed to get HIV.

But how in the world did you manage to get chlamydia five times? In Japan?

No, I was infected with chlamydia once in China, once in Thailand and 3 times here in Japan. Two times here were from Pink Salons, which I never go to anymore and the last time was from a sex friend.

Can people really be...allergic to...other people? what? First time hearing about this.

I realize that if say I'm allergic to cats and a woman I sleep with has a pet cat, I would be indirectly allergic to her via cat hair/dander.

You're not allergic. You're also not infected. People can experience symptoms ranging from vague pain to full on swelling, rashes, dizziness, fainting spells and heart palpitations purely through anxiety. Stop being so damn paranoid or if you can't, go see a therapist. Not a single test will come back positive since the doctors would have noticed an increase in white blood cells or anti bodies, which you don't have.

On another note, yep you can become allergic to basically everything. Some women go into full anaphylactic shock from exposure to semen, some poor bastards are born allergic to oxygen or water and there's a small group of people who are allergic to sunlight or strong UV radiation living in darkened houses. Hell, some peanut allergies are so strong all it takes is to open a packet next to a sufferer to almost kill them.

I understand what you mean, but I swear I'm not stressing at all. My mind is totally calm now, but these are the exact same stomach symptoms I had all the 5 times I was diagnosed positive for chlamydia...don't you think there is a small chance my sex friend tested a false negative for some stds? I know the tests can fail to detect sometimes.

Also, now my stomach is not only gurgling, I'm getting these sharp stabbing pains that I literally never get...even when I'm stressing about things. It seems all too big a coincidence that I'm getting all these familiar symptoms right after receiving unprotected oral from her...

By the way, does anyone know what are all the stds are checked for in the standard oral test in Japan? I know it can usually detect chlamydia and gonorrhea...what else? HCV?

I dunno then, the best advice I can give is to go to a regular doctor instead of a clinic and only describe your symptoms and how terrible it makes you feel, not what you think caused them or that you think it might be a STD. He'll probably give a broad spectrum anti biotic which should clear the minor stuff up.

Wow, you must have some seriously bad luck. Ever consider changing your practices?

Just about anything is possible at this point (though some things less probable than others). If you're concerned, I'd go see doctor. No point trying to guess without anything concrete to go on.

Even at my advanced age, I have never heard of this virus, so I looked it up. For others like me, here's what I found:

What Are the Causes of Molluscum Contagiosum?
You can get molluscum contagiosum by touching the lesions on the skin of an infected person. Children can get the virus during normal play with other children.

Teens and adults are more likely to become infected through sexual contact. You can also become infected during contact sports that involve touching bare skin, such as wrestling or football.

The virus can survive on surfaces that have been touched by the skin of an infected person. Therefore, it’s possible to contract the virus by handling towels, clothing, toys, or other items that have been contaminated.

Sharing sports equipment that someone’s bare skin has touched can also cause the transfer of this virus. The virus can be left on the equipment and passed to the next person. This includes items such as baseball gloves, wrestling mats, and football helmets.

If you have this condition, you can spread the infection throughout your body. You can transfer the virus from one part of your body to another by touching, scratching, or shaving a bump and then touching another part of your body.
