Sexually Transmitted Disease (std) Talk

@TokyoJoeblow taking the antibiotics for the clam without even knowing you have it as you mentioned above is even worse as your body eventualy builds an immunity to the drug which in your case may explain why you have caught it 5 times already. Do not take anti biotics without knowing for sure you have the illness as the effects can only be counter productive. Also how do you get access to tue med without getting a test done in the first place as the doc will not prescribe it unless you actualy test positive. Makes me doubt the veracity and effectiveness of the pills you may be consuming if not prescribed

Also as some have mentioned above, its possible you may have other issues with your digestive system which probably flares up when you have the clam which however does not necessarily mean you have the clam. So as mentioned above stop speculating and spend a little bit of money and go see a professional (not an escort). You will get some peace of mind.

And once again stop abusing anti biotics

Can anyone help me with this? I'm trying to remember every time someone has recommended that TokyoJoeBlow consult a professional.

My first memory is for a building specialist experienced in repairing small holes in the wall.

Another is for an attorney, at least twice, for visa status and family matters.

A professional JAV film company willing to accept him as a star.

Multiple times, an MD for multiple health reasons, including the post above.

I cannot recall once when he's actually consulted a professional, even when links were provided.

Yeah but hey, how could that help? I mean it's not like the doctor could do some tests and then describe the correct medicine or something like that, right?

But it is really easy to get any medicine you want in Japan legally. You just go to your normal doc and explain him you need it and he will write a description.

It's not like writing the description cost him anything but not doing it will cost him a patient as you'll go somewhere else so most likely you get what you want if you can tell a good story why you need it.

Actually I have consulted both a couple different MD for different health reasons and a marriage/visa lawyer with regard to my situation. I appreciate the links and support from the members on this forum.

I'm chalking it up to paranoia...you guys were right...damn it not again! lol

I was having all sorts of physical symptoms that act just like real chlamydia symptoms...the brain sure can be evil sometimes.

All the crazy symptoms went away as soon as I kept repeating to myself to just chill out and it is probably nothing...I wake up today...totally fine wtf! lol

Wow!!! For some reason, I'm so touched. Way to go! You've given all of us, well some, OK, at least me, cause to celebrate.

What is the cheapest way to get antibiotics if I don't want to wait for a public health center? I had a condom break 3 weeks ago and now I'm showing symptoms for either chlamydia or gonorrhea. I have health insurance and I called an English help line and they told me to go to My City Clinic in Shinjuku. I asked about a Urologist since they're both urine tests and she told the clinic would probably be cheaper at 3240 yen for each test + consultation fee. I said fuck it and was ready to go until I saw the reviews. I figure I can get the full suite done at a public health center after the 3 month mark to make sure I'm clean but looking for where to go now.

Since nobody has replied, I did a quick search of TAG's archives for you. Sorry, I have no personal experience in Japan.

You seem so negative! :p

Seems to be place called Yoboukai Clinic and they have clinics in Shinjuku, Kawasaki, Yokohama and Fukuoka.

Seriously though, I would like to go for STD checks in a few days to be sure, for peace of mind. Does anyone know a good doctor who can speak a bit English? Anywhere in Tokyo is ok. I guess I will go next week. I have Japanese health insurance.
MD here speaks English but the clinic is closed till Jan. 10.

I, too, had an experience which depressed me a lot out of fear for STD. When in doubt, talking to a doctor really helps. However, I don't think you've got any.

Hi, I guess you've already called the number listed on the second page of this brochure.
http://www.city.shinjuku.lg.jp/content/000211891.pdf

Yes, it's free though it doesn't include gonorrhea.

At hospitals, STD tests are usually not covered by the Japanese health insurance. This is why the prices indicated at a private clinic's website are often expensive. However, the tests can be covered by the insurance if you are showing the symptoms. It's better you go to see a doctor. If you have Japanese health insurance, any consultation will be covered and not that expensive. If the doctor advises you to go through the tests, it would end up cheaper than you might have thought. Good luck.

That turned out to be exactly the case. The help line I used had no idea what these things cost and the woman I talked to today was worthless (the first woman I talked to on Sunday was great she actually listened to me and tried to help me). I don't expect them to be experts but this distinction in whether or not you can use your health insurance is pretty significant. There is a big difference between what I paid at the clinic I went to (2150) and the ~10,000 yen at that shitty clinic they told me to go. All she said I was think 3240 yen per test is reasonable. No surprise she would probably defend key money and contract fees to her grave as well. It's just reasonable.

I went to (http://pctclinic.com/) and paid 2150 yen for the consultation and a urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea (according to the site it would have been 8k for both if I didn't have symptoms). I saw someone else mention them on this site and and they had good reviews on google so I went there. He said I'd only have to wait 2-3 days for the results and offered to prescribe me antibiotics on the spot. He told me that if I ended up just having gonorrhea and it was resistant that it wouldn't do anything so I decided to wait for the results. Thanks for the replies.

It seems like in Japan, the consultation is very cheap, even without the insurance. But they charge an outrageous amount for medication. How much was the medication? 10K? 15K?

Can I bring my 10 days supply of Valtrex (Valacyclovir antiviral for herpes) in Japan with no problems? Do I need to present them at customs or can I just leave it in my suitcase?

Japanese online pharmacies sell the product without problem.

I don't think you need to declare, but you might need to explain it to the customs officers when they decide to search your luggage (it's rare though). Information sheet, like the one attached below, may help you explaining the medication in such a contingency.

Thanks for those links, that drug information would come in handy.

Went and took a test today. No symptoms, but with the number of girls I've seen this month better to be on the safe side. Results in next week.

The clinic was 新宿東口クリニック, a pretty self describing name. Not too far from Shinjuku station.

Good on you for being proactive!

I was expecting some of the twin tail crew to be on the STD thread this week :ROFLMAO:

Fuck. Either this is just a bad coincidence and I'm paranoid or I caught gonorrhea :(
7 days after having intercourse, my penile urethra has a tingling sensation with slight burning. Aparently typical symptoms.

Where can I can get tested in Tokyo quickly? Can't wait one week for results. Can I go to a normal doctor (I know one that speaks english, where I have been for normal stuff before) or do I need a special STD clinic?

You can go to your normal doctor - but you need to tell him you suspect you have an STI and explain the symptoms. The symptoms you described could be almost any uti.

An STI clinic, may have a faster turn around on test results. But generally, Japanese doctors bomb the problem with antibiotics immediately without waiting for test results.

If you search the forum you will find recommendations for clinics/doctors.

Small update: Went to the urologist today. He did a standard urine test (white and red bloodcells, etc,..) but nothing showed up. So he confirmed my suspicion that it might be clamydia or gonorrhea (or he's clueless because he didn't even examine my dick). The test results will only come back in one week. Until then he gave me antibiotics.
I guess it all makes sense now. The symptoms all fall into the correct timeframe, combined with the slightly smelly pussy (which can have a lot of reasons) the girls 3 weeks ago had...
I just feel bad about the girl last week, maybe I infected her? She told me she had "some symptoms" since a few days but clamydia medicine didn't help and now she suspects yeast infection... What a clusterfuck. Having my first P4P and (probably) catching an infection, what are the odds...
My only regret is, that I'll leave Japan before I'm completly healed, so no more fun :(

But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? :D

Wrong. Sometimes stuff won't kill you but make you much weaker. Nietzsche is not always right.

Exactly. The correct form of the saying is "what doesn't kill you can still hurt like hell".
