Sexually Transmitted Disease (std) Talk

Was talking someone yesterday about HIV test. Seems like the site for free HIV testing in Shinju & Tama center has been updated. Now we can make a booking online again. It was switched to phone only for a while when they were renewing the site.

This question may come across a bit weird, but has anyone ever shown a provider your test result with positive HSV1, and what was their reaction?

Asking this because based on the discussion here, HSV1 is quite common, and I have read in reviews as well as X posts from providers that they actually like it when customers show them their test results, which I assumed to be totally clean results.

I just got tested for the first time and am HSV1 positive. I did not have any sexual experience all my life until my trip to Japan earlier this year which I used some services, and did not have any symptom since then. My doctor told me this is common and generally harmless, no treatment is needed. I am from a SEA country btw, if that makes any difference.

I was actually hoping I can show a clean test result to the providers next time I go to Japan and want use a service. Now not too sure if I should do that.

IDK, some 80 percent of adults has HSV-1. Anyone with a cold sore has it. Most doctors won't even test for it, unless you specifically request it. I've also never showed a test to anyone in my life. Maybe someone else does that and has advice.

When I show my test to providers it's just a panel of chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV and syphilis. Sometimes trich if I can get the doctor to do it but they're weird about it for men a lot of the time, at least in the US. This has always been sufficient.

HSV-1 is essentially useless to show or test for because so many people have it, but still having a positive of some sort on the test will probably cause the provider to have an uncomfortable feeling even if its one they'd dismiss with a little bit of further thought, so probably better to just get panels done that leave it off.

In Japan, it's quite common to show test results to healthcare providers, which isn't something you typically see in other countries. In fact, doing so in other countries might raise some eyebrows, as people might wonder why you're sharing that information.

That's why it's a good idea to get your tests done in Japan. You'll be using the local language and a system that the providers are used to. You can even log in on your phone right in front of the provider to make it look more legit.

Once you get to Tokyo, just head over to one of the Yoboukai clinics. The whole process, from check-in to completing your tests and making payment, usually takes less than 20 minutes.

If you go in the morning, you can typically expect to have all your test results by 8:00 PM the same day.

Does Japan national health care insurance cover it? I think we have to pay out of pocket and they only cover it if you actually caught an STD? How much does testing cost?

Generally the analysis are not covered (one or two types are covered though, sorry don't remember) but the costs at the clinic (acceptance, registration, etc.) are. So the name of the clinic shows where you went and some private info.

Costs vary according to what you test. Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, syphilis cost about JPY 5,000.
The xxplasma viruses abt 15,000/18,000
YMMV

Thanks for the info. Will search for the nearest adult health clinic nearby. And I assume this is all kept private? What if I'm on a company health plan? They say that your results are private but will my company be able to see that I had an STD check? Just slightly paranoid about them finding such things and making it public or published to the higher ups or HR.

The private clinics like Yoboukai don't ask for identification, everything is strictly confidential.

Say that you want to pay full charge and don't show your health insurance card

Japanese clinics don't test for that. If you'd do a test in Japan you should show up all clean. Sometimes doctors to a herpes check where they check if your genitals don't have sores or wards on them if you pay for it though.

Last time I posted here I announced I had been infected with molluscum, maybe or maybe not from a sexual encounter. Woah that's almost 2 years ago and I'm finally clearing up.
It has been an annoying and mentally tiring ride so I'll make it brief.
Got it confirmed via biopsy at a hospital.
First started on my upper groin, I used tweezers to pull out the core and cleaned it with soap and alcohol wipes, and applied band-aids/bandages. Stopped popping up after 8 months but eventually started spreading down to each side of my upper thighs Like right between the folds of the thighs and balls. Been struggling in that area since the summer of 2023... Fuck...

It was difficult to find info when it came to adults with molluscum because the majority of forum posts I looked into were from parents who had children with molluscum. I'm like, damn how is this more common in children than adults?? Anyway...

Research and opinions suggested nitrogen spray was a good way to solve it. Found a dermatologist clinic that dealt with molluscum so I got that. My skin was looking horrible with red sore dots from the sprays so I asked for cream to help with that.
He prescribed me リンデロンvg. Didn't give me much details but said it should help with the redness from the spraying.
I thought okay sure, it definitively helped. But after half a year molluscum didn't show signs of slowing down. Talked with a doctor, he asked me if I had HIV, because people with HIV struggle with molluscum more. But since I have refrained from sexual activity since 2022 because of molluscum, and tests for syphilis, hiv, aids, gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes(skin and blood test) all negative. Is my immune system that fucked up? I thought to myself.

I started realizing doctors, in general, are hit and miss so I started looking into the cream I have used for over half a year.
Turns out, it contains steroids, and another medical Japanese site that listed info for リンデロン said you must avoid using this cream if you have molluscum.
I was so fucking pissed off when I made that discovery. I expect a doctor to know what medicines should be given and not given. Turns out this has happened before with other people as I found another Japanese blog post mentioning that a doctor had prescribed RinderonVG to their child who also suffered from molluscum and advised parents to avoid doctors who prescribe this.

Now I needed to try something else. Stopped shaving with razor and only using tweezers didn't seem to slow anything down. And finally, I found something effective.
I found another blog post by a mother who has a son who struggled with molluscum. She used Hydrocolloid patches and noticed an improvement. So I applied them on my upper thighs.
Something I should have done a long time ago since I likely reinfected myself multiple times when my exposed thighs and balls repeatedly touched each other. Every week I would find one or two molluscum that appeared under the patch so I got my tweezers to pull out the core and washed before applying a new one. (Don't apply this on your pubic hair because these patches sticks to your skin harder than your local band-aids, I'm lucky I have little hair growth on my legs)

This thankfully prevented spreading. I have also taken ヨクイニン tablets daily which were recommended by someone who successfully cleared from it.
By doing this ever since the end of winter, no more molluscum have popped up on the right side of my legs and balls. And I found only one molluscum on my left side of my upper thighs after not seeing anything for 1 month. The frequency of molluscum appearing and spread has greatly reduced since winter. I only wish I did this earlier.

Now, I used tape to try to prevent spread, but this only resulted in damaging my skin underneath the tape because the skin on the upper thighs stretches. But with hydrocolloid patches make it more gentle on the skin.
I expect this will fully clear up by the end of the year, if not sometime during winter 2025. Maybe I will be allowed to have fun again?

Hopefully, this will help if there's anyone who's struggling with molluscum.

I'm glad it was that and nothing life lasting.
Little warts yeah. Not dangerous and won't lead to anything even if left untreated. But it is contagious from direct and indirect skin contact (indirect like shared towels). Overall it depends on your immune system and how well you cover them.

Yoboukai was a golden recommendation from this thread, very fast and hassle free. I don't remember if they took my personal info like passport copy for some reason, but I do remember their IC card registration which worked with your Suica for further visits. I thought that was neat.

I had to provide a STD test to a soapland provider and having the results be available the next day was a life saver, but it was interesting how she barely looked at my phone to see it. Maybe she saw all the minuses in a row and that was enough.

Molluscum is very common in third world countries with lots of humidity and poor hygiene like the Philippines. I am not surprised that doctors in Japan are not so familiar with it.

You can get it from even using a towel or bed sheets of someone who had it. So very easy to spread. It's a virus. Should clear on its own if you don't interfere. Breaking open the sores, or touching them, can spread it. If you leave it alone, it will go away. Takes 6 months or more to go away, which is a long time to avoid sex sadly!

Standard medical advice is that no treatment is required. If it's on your penis, vulva, or anus, then you may be given something for treatment. Otherwise, normally you are just told to leave it alone.

Mostly children get it, but when they do everyone in the house will probably get it too.

Important advice. Breaking them open as OP did can cause spread - the bumps should be left intact.

If treatment is necessary, cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen) is the usual method. It kills the virus contained in the fluid inside the bump, reducing spread.

It seems like cryotherapy and other therapies would be more effective than what he was doing. I knew of a person that had it and he received a bar of soap and this cream that had acid in it. Worked like a charm. He thinks he got it from a massage therapist he frequented. Her or the towels. But I agree there are better ways to get rid of that.

As far as I researched, self-extracting is the second best solution next to cryo, but I don't doubt that the risk of spreading it further increases. Various opinions about this can be up for discussion. Still, I chose to follow one advice which was not to leave them alone to prevent spread should I accidentally itch myself down there, rubbing the warts against my pants or cross my legs making the exposed areas touch each other as it's easy to transmit it to other areas..
Rest depends on your immune system and how careful you are with your skin.

Cryo therapy didn't help after half a year. frequency and number of warts appearing were the same. But at the same time, I smeared リンデロンVG on the sores that the doctor himself prescribed to me, which as I mentioned contains steroids that spread the virus so that was probably the reason why it seemed ineffective to me. I only wish I had started googling that cream earlier. But we'll see how it turns out until the end of the year.
Had I gone to a different doctor who gave me proper advice I'd be clear by now but. For now, I have had positive results by applying hydrocolloid patches on the areas.
I may consider going back for cryo should it get worse.

I have asked chatgpt using this prompt, "if i were a man having sex with a woman who is infected by std, what is the percentage of transmission happening. If
1. No kissing if there are visible sores or cut
2. No unprotected vaginal
3. No anal at all
4. No unprotected oral
5. Not sharing anything personal (toothbrush, towel etc.
6. Not in direct contact with blood or cuts"

The answer come with all std having less than 1% transmission and i would assume the percentage would much lower in real live since the encounter with somebody infected with alltype of std is very rare. Which i found very interesting. (Please someone fact check this).
You should not ever, under any circumstances or for any reason, engage in paid sexual encounters. You are not cut out for it.

can i ask the question to the manager and the girls like, are the girls infected or have been infected with std?
If you do this, you're even stupider than I thought.

Seriously - don't engage in this hobby. It is not for you.

hi its my first time participating in any conversation in this forum and i am not sure if i can search for this particular question using the search feature so ill just post this here. Sorry if it's inappropriate or rude

If you look at a girl the wrong way you will be infected with Super AIDS.

Just stay away from P4P. They way you asked this points to disaster. Everybody involved will just be uncomfortable.
