Sexually Transmitted Disease (std) Talk

recently I read a post on reddit about someone who got drunk and doing risky sex and panicking to get PEP in sapporo. unlike tokyo, it is almost no clinic found on google search provide PEP.

with such scenario, would you take PrEP on daily basis?

or do you take PrEP even with covered service (in case of condom break)?

saw many people panicking over condom breaking or if provider suddenly put it in after sumata, was thinking to take on demand PrEP for peace of mind sake on top of condom.
If the cost isn't prohibitively expensive (it's pretty affordable in Japan), and you know you will be having multiple sessions within a week or 2, there's no reason not to take it daily for that period IMO.

For now I'm taking on-demand since I'm not mongering that frequently and with a few exceptions (for my regulars), 99% of the girls where I'm at insist on a condom so PrEP isn't needed for the most part. Only had a condom slip off once with an indie but for me I'm not too worried about that because of that reason.

PrEP only works if it's taken before exposure. Think of it like hiring armed guards to keep thieves out of a jewelry store.
for those who have high risk of drunk sex, taking daily prep might be the solution.

on demand prep still feasible for proper planned punting, since it need to be taken atleast 2 hours before. (for women unfortunately daily is still the only effective way based on the article in the page).

yearly kidney check or more frequent check needs to be added to the menu for extra precaution.

I think that PrEP (or even PeP in case of broken condom) is an overkill for heterosexual vaginal sex with female providers. The probability of encountering a provider who got infected with HIV between her last checkup and the sexual encounter is almost 0. And even if she was infected, the probability for a man to get infected via PIV is extremely low.

I would be much more concerned about incurable gonorrhea from a pink saloon and, unfortunately, there's no PrEP for that.

In the end it's all about your own risk acceptance. I still take PrEP because for the few regulars that do offer me NS/NN, I dunno how clean is the previous guy before me so why take on unneeded risk lol.

There's no "incurable" variety yet, but there are strains that require some insanely strong antibiotics that need to be administered under supervision in hospital.

I visited an escort that I already met couple of times before, and in the middle of the session she suggested having sex (we never did that before) At one point, she removed the condom and tried to continue. I immediately stopped her, she told me that its fine I know it was a mistake, but it was hard for me to resist in the moment I asked her if she was on birth control, and she said yes, so we continued.

Later I asked her about this and she said she never did that before I'm not sure whether to believe her and I'm a bit concerned. I had an STI test a couple of weeks ago, but should I get tested again now to be safe?

Best to start thinking with the right head.

If she's done it with you, she's done it with dozens, if not hundreds.

Get tested in a week or so.

we had few cases people panicking here lmao.

the polar opposite also true, husbands unknowingly infecting their wifes from risky adventures in south east asia is not small.

This only thing you should trust is a piece of paper or online proof of results issued by a proper clinic, showing "-" or "negative" all over.

Lol some people are worried about STDs, I'm worried about baby/abortion scams 🤣

I've literally read through 80 pages of this thread.

From the advice that I've gathered and what I read... it seems like the safest way to engage in CFS P4P

  • CFS / CBJ.
  • Avoid DATY & etc.
  • Go to a reputable SL instead of a shady / cheap one.
  • Accept that there is a very very very small of catching something even with a condom.

other than that, just enjoy P4P?

Hey guys can I ask an absolutely stupid question?

How does Yobokai clinics work once you already have a Yobokai card? Do you still go up to the front desk and speak with the receptionists or are you supposed to use the kiosk thing? I've never had to use the kiosk before but I've also never had a card before either. It seems nearly everyone else that came it went straight to the kiosk but I'm not sure what they were actually doing over there. There also seemed to always be a line at the kiosk as people were constantly coming in, so I'm worried about holding others up by fumbling around with the kiosk not knowing what I'm doing, especially when I'm not sure if I'm supposed to even use it in the first place haha.

Anyway, just hoping to get a bit of insight from anyone more familiar with the process than I am, and hopefully prevent making (more of) a fool of myself or annoying the locals. I'll also be using the Yoshiwara/Asakusa branch for the first time too if that makes a difference.

Thanks guys!

Not sure about the Asakusa branch and the kiosk and card system.
At the one I go to, you use your own Suika card and you can either check in by yourself on a pc, or you can still walk up to the counter and check in like that.
Counter is still fine in your case I think.

I didn't see it covered all too much in my forum searches, but in the interest of remaining STI-free, I got some Doxy-PEP pills and decided I'd try using them a couple times just to see how rough the side effects are.

I've done it twice now and basically the worst part is what it does to my skin. Makes me break out and itch for a few days, but I luckily don't get an upset stomach at all.

Given that it's supposed to be nearly 90% effective against preventing syphilis, chlamydia, and 60% against gonorrhea, it feels like a solid backup plan just in case I end up being stupid and think with my other head with a willing provider, but now that I've tried it, I don't plan to make it a regular thing, especially since it's also said to raise your resistance to antibiotics.

Still, always good to be prepared.

I feel like that's alright to do once or twice a year, but if you overdo it you'll do more harm than good.
