Single Male traveller question on Bar 9259

first off thanks all the members for the useful info all allong. I have a quick question......

Are single male travellers (without any Japanese health insurance card) not to be admitted to the bar?

The require a Japanese health insurance card and picture ID with a matching name for admittance.

This is to keep out tourists and US military personnel, because of previous unpleasant incidents with both.

I went there with a French lady who didn't have Japanese health insurance and it was OK so just try your luck but you need to be able to speak Japanese or go with a Japanese speaker.

They're going to be more forgiving with women (especially good looking ones) because they're both a draw and less likely to cause trouble.

And can we please not encourage people to try to test the rules at these and other places?

That's one of the ways that foreigners end up banned completely.

Respect their policies.
