That's a very valid point. Yes, we would catch it very easily... all reviews are screened before approval. Many reviews never see the light of day because of problems with the person posting the review or the contents of the review itself. If the review gets approved, then it has passed cursory checks to assure that it's legit. Or, at least as legit as we can make it with the available resources.

New members have to start somewhere and while posting a review right of the box isn't ideal, sometimes that is just how people get started. We do circle back to reviews where the poster made a review and just logged out without even a return to see comments added to the review.
