Yo Wonderful TAG vets and supporters,

I decided to start a restart a thread about overtourism in Japan for 2025. (There were other threads addressing similar topics couple years back)
Those threads covered the negative effects of overtourism in Japan in general.
Most memorable one is from 2023.

https://tokyoadultguide.com/threads/overtourism-as-of-october-2023.31187/

Now it's 2025.
Has overtoursim in Japan gotten worse?

However, it's my wish that this thread focus on the negative effects of overtourism on the mongering life in Japan.
What negative effects?
As noted before in different threads with the rise of Gaijin taxes and/or proverbial NG by SL/DH providers and establishments, who were once very friendly to foreign clients.
Also of reports of terrorizing and humiliating of service providers by abusive tourists clients. (Can't believe there are expats here, who are okay with such behavior on this forum.)
I guess the obvious indicators on TAG is the myriad of entitlement attitude and moronic inquiries that have plagued this Forum since the start of this year.
It seems like everyday there is another fucktard no-nihongo tourist posting to be spoonfed for information that they have no idea about and asking same stupid questions to which we refused to answer for the obvious reasons.
I know some of you have been withholding reviews of your fav providers and establishments, hence they may be ruined by the barbarian hordes. (I know I have in order to protect my favs, although I would like to write a very positive reviews to honor their hard work.)

As noted by the TAG manager previously, the Post-Covid tourists have been outright deplorable.
The big questions:
  1. Are these fucktards ruining the mongering life here in Japan? How?
  2. Are there ways to mitigate this plague or are we (expats) screwed?
  3. What peeps (nationality, etc.) are the worst fucktards screwing the mongering life in Japan according to the service providers and from the forums?
I am very mindful that there are very good no-nihongo tourists , who have posted before on these forums that they are thankful for the privilege to part take in the mongering services here in Japan and are respectful to the service providers and appreciate their efforts to accommodate them.
I have met few of these "good" tourists at Voluptuous and they are as mortified and embarrassed by the behaviors of the fucktards.
I just think TAG needs a thread like this to just vent about the current trend of the fucktards ruining the mongering life in Japan and overtourism in general.

(Note: If there are positive things about overtourism and the effects on mongering life in Japan, please post those comments too.)

yes since they open the border.
and getting worse with yen.

and as I have mentioned, P4P used to be more for serious hobbyist, for local or maybe expats on business trips, which enrich and contribute to this hobby.

and now more tourists enter the arena out of curiosity or checking bucket list, and some shops trying to capitalize this. this left the residents at the bottom tier, not having capability to compete with non yen earners ( yeah I know some tourist from 3rd world countries, they especially probably should hold on their saving and play in cheaper countries).

and not just P4P, hotels become so much more expensive, oversea scalpers ruining things and more fucktards ruining shinkansen experience.

I do appreciate some visitors learning the culture and try to adapt, but number of fucktards vastly outnumbered them.

just like how other gaijin ruining it for you in term of store access and maybe getting apartments.

positive parts is if you make money from tourism. like recently someone make and english guide and put in on etsy.

I spoke with a bi-lingual provider last November about the influx of tourists and learned some stuff.
Positives:
-More business = more income (theoretically)
-Providers can work a part-time office job during the day to further their career. At night, there is plenty of business.
-Foreign men typically can't speak Japanese. Once the guy cums, sessions could end sooner out of awkwardness.
Negatives:
-More women are getting into sex work due to demand, which creates competition. If a provider is working in a soapland/fashion health establishment, she needs to fill her slots for her incall space.
-Some foreigners try to replicate Japanese porn with excessive fingering. Providers don't like it, especially with men who don't clip their nails.
-Because foreigners are not going to repeat, they'll try to get away with a lot. Picking up and throwing providers, spanking, squeezing nipples, verbal abuse, begging for raw, etc.

It was nice talking to the provider last year to understand her side of the p4p world. Single mom who didn't earn enough during the day for her family. To her, sex work was just a job. When people obey the rules, day goes by fast. When foreigners try to fulfill their Japanese porn fetishes, it's taxing on her body.

I suggest we repurpose all those Nigerian touts as there is always one right around the corner from your love hotel. So give the lady a panic button app and when she hits it a big scary dude bangs on the door and does to you whatever you did to her.
The rumor of these dudes alone might clean up behavior but even if it doesn't, a little street justice will do wonders for everyone's morale.

Thanks for sharing Icyblu-san. It's these fucktard behaviors that just burns me.. What these fucktards don't realize is that providers are human, a live person with feelings and complex background. A lot of us here on TAG (expats and the non-fucktard tourists) realize this and consider it a privilege to be able to interact sexually with these providers. Sad thing is these fucktard behaviors are considered by majority of the tourist community as a just reward for their payment. (As posted many times on these forums by the fucktards themselves..)

1. Yes and no, I think. They typically pay top yen because of the gj taxes and have wallets flush with money due to being rich or the yen working to their advantage, so that's more money to be made (potentially, as Icyblu said). However, they don't know the rules or simply choose to ignore them, fucking it up for everyone else. Shitty Japanese customers do it too (I'm paying good money so service me!), but it obviously stands out more when it's a tourist or foreigner. And as you said, there are outliers who do their best to learn the rules and enjoy the mongering properly. I've read some posts talking about how GJ customers from A or B country are more often than not better behaved than their Japanese ones.

2. I kinda think this is the thinking behind Yoasobi. If the go-to route is through a portal that explains everything and does most of the heavy lifting before connecting customers to shops, the potential for becoming a fucktard gets lower (possibly...). But the catch (for residents anyway) is the insane markup they put on to it and then likely implement across the board. I think it doesn't leave many options besides keeping your favs close and hidden like you said, but one thing I did see just yesterday on Twitter was a suggestion of a discount for people who provide their test results at the front desk. I'm all for that and it'd probably be good for weeding out fucktards as well if that was the standard everywhere.

3. China usually tops the list, whether in Twitter posts or from what I've heard from girls (Taiwanese customers are quite good apparently lol). I'd say 80-90% of bitching about STDs I see on Twitter among Japanese customers is attributing it all to "gaikokujin" when they really mean Chinese.

Heard good and bad things about Korean customers.

Indians are awful apparently, expecting raw FS because that's how it is there (this ain't India ya fucktards).

Pretty decent rep among Americans/Europeans from things like condom use and safe sex, but there are always outliers.

Not a scientific appraisal by any means, but it's what my Twitter monitoring has shown me.

I think in all ways, mongering or not, the Taiwanese are probably atop the list of good tourists from the Japanese point of view. There are a lot of reasons for this, but I think it mostly comes down to them being the most culturally similar.

I asked a few of the providers I met on this trip about this very topic and they said similar things to the above. One told me that the good gaijin customers are better than the good Japanese customers (this may have just been some fluffery on her part), but the worst gaijin are much worse than the worst Japanese because they cannot be shamed into behaving properly.

indirect impact of this is it lower the standard of the industry. they crank up promotion and advertisement and get away with below par service.

nothing against thailand, but living in a country with reputation as sex tourism kind of pose a certain challenge.

I lived in south east asia before and a coworker from outside that country sheepishly ask for p4p places recommendation. do I look like a pimp dude?

do I look like a pimp dude?

I dunno, is this you?

Are there ways to mitigate this plague or are we (expats) screwed?
I think main problem is the shifting from just sex industry to sex tourism. Honestly not much we can do but slow down it by gatekeep some information.

it is common cases that hidden gem places ruined after instagram post.

What peeps (nationality, etc.) are the worst fucktards screwing the mongering life in Japan according to the service providers and from the forums?
a bit hard not to offend people for this question. we know the military guy from US. I wont accuse SG, but do I see many raw warriors there sharing tips on how to force raw service. People from country where they see women as lower caste or tends to justify rape by shaming the woman also potential become fucktards. Men I hope nothing like the case in dubai happen in japan.

  1. Are these fucktards ruining the mongering life here in Japan? How?
Absolutely. In addition to the abovementiioned issues of gaijin tax, violence, and going off menu, a very big issue that's about to raise its head is that these morons are drawing attention to the sex industry in Japan. Japan tolerates the existence of fuzoku, but only as long as it remains mizu shobai, fluid and ethereal and most importantly tucked away out of sight. The more it's brought into the limelight, the more the politicians feel pressure to do something about the situation. Anyone who was here in the late 90s knows what happened when Ishihara decided he wanted the Olympics - the fuzoku trade was decimated in Tokyo. The same thing is starting to happen again, but this time it's nationwide. Already, all the major cities have soft bans on new brick and mortar establishments - they aren't prohibited, but no licenses are being issued.

  1. Are there ways to mitigate this plague or are we (expats) screwed?

Honestly, for the industry to survive the coming purge, a large number of shops will go Japanese-only. If they wanted to head it off, implementing language requirements would do a LOT - anyone who's spent the time and effort to learn Japanese has usually also learned the important parts of Japanese culture to go with it - like keeping quiet about things like fuzoku.

  1. What peeps (nationality, etc.) are the worst fucktards screwing the mongering life in Japan according to the service providers and from the forums?
The girls I see regularly uniformly complain about:

Mainland Chinese always trying to haggle and get extra services, and treating the girls like peons.

Americans are another common complaint, in that they often try to come to shops in groups, and loudly converse with their buddies between rooms, and try to engage in things they see in US porn like choking and forced deepthroat. The US military guys are their own problem, but they're mostly concentrated in a few areas and have been a problem as long as the bases have been here.

Indians because of poor hygiene and trying to demand, or in some cases forcibly engage in, FS. Also just heard my first in Japan version of a common complaint with girls in Thailand - a DH lady I know showed up to a hotel room and the Indian guy had a few of his buddies in the room, presumably expecting that they would all get service. Fortunately for her, she spotted them before she stepped inside, and ran back to the elevator. In Thailand this often ends up with girls getting gangraped.

The absolute bottom of the barrel seems to be Arabs - I haven't heard many stories, but the ones I've heard have been horrible. Literal rape, forced anal, and violence if the girls don't comply. Fortunately there aren't that many visitors from that region.

Yeah, where they come from they are known to use the girls as literal toilets or vice versa. Not saying scat play doesn't exist in the more hardcore shops but still.

Not a resident and only been active in Japan since late 2022, but I will share my opinions

- If the yen continues to fall Japan will continue to see worse tourists. Even if it stabilizes, personally I predict countries like Thailand and Vietnam will grow their economies pretty rapidly by comparison so the cost comparison will be worse, thus more low quality tourists will choose Japan over Thailand since costs are more comparable.

- If Japan starts becoming too well known for sex tourism, something will have to give government will intervene

1. If anyone can ruin the mongering life for foreigners, it's any foreigner. Unfortunately for expats they get mixed in the same bag as tourists who notoriously have terrible behavior relatively speaking, not just in Japan but anywhere in general. (answer is a clear undeniable yes)
2. You can't stop the flow of information, theres no real way to mitigate tourists seeking out mongering in Japan.
3. Plenty of stories about certain groups online, the same generalizations apply whether they are in Japan or talking about sex work elsewhere.

---

I am not good at predicting things but if I had to come up with a list it is this: I think access will continue to rise (with or without tax) while service level decreases

However, it could be stopped by government intervention which could be proceeded by stricter entry requirements by shops which could end up being a good thing for fluent speaking residents.

To be fair tourists by themselves don't push it into the open....media coverage does. Besides foreigners there is a bunch of Japanese content creators with wide reach who expose this topic to thousands of viewers for clicks. They are probably doing the most damage because they act as a catalyst drawing in more and more people who would have never thought about it before.

awareness of fuzoku abroad has been driven by japan centric western youtubers. i think the sex tourism boom is just getting started, unfortunately. i think things like yoasobi and foreigner targeted establishments will bring a big crackdown because allowing japan to be known internationally as the worlds biggest brothel is going to make politicians lose face.

i already see rw accounts on twitter blaming ishiba for pimping the country out to foreigners like GHQ did. it's a low blow but probably politically effective

unregulated activity through apps is probably going to be the future. the advantage of being able to pick your clients is too good

TAG come out as third when I search "japan sex guide"

I think I found out about TAG on reddit long time ago lol.

might sound gatekeeping, but I dont mind tourists that can do their own research in TAG instead of asking for recommendations.

the easier it is for them, meaning the lower barrier of entry, and 1 thing lead to another.

if a shop got 10 gaijin asking, they might not thinks that much. 100 gaijin asking, and tencho see opportunity to increase profits.

it might inevitable, but I dont want to be part of things that hasten the process.

Anything that is forced should be straight to jail.
There are few threads in the past which reviewers bragged that they abused the provider to submit to their will. It was disgusting and appalling. The worst was some expat TAG members coddling that behavior. It was the lowest of the lowest in my opinion…. The Billy Bobs and Karens of MAGAland are just deplorable….

I've noticed that when I DM new girls directly to a setup a reservation for the first time, the response rate has increased a decent amount since I started also disclosing my nationality & skin colour (white European). Not sure if the sample size is simply too small, or there's a racial bias there lol.

I'm just glad that on TAG people get shamed hard for being absolute fucktards. Most other English speaking online forums related to fuzoku seems to be full of pigs talking about how to get FS with DH girls, strategies for getting raw, and just talking about the girls as if they were subhuman.

Something I also have noticed, were amongst not great company a lot of the time. Actually I just saw a picture from a RD girl twitter about body writing where what was written on her was a racial slur against asians basically. While some girls might actually be into that type of degradation, my impression was more she just didn't know what it meant (maybe I am assuming too much tho). Anyways i've seen pictures like that a few times and it always rubs me the wrong way. (For the record though she said she loved the option)
