Yup was the same when I went to that area last year. Wakayama and Mie was fantastic as well with mostly local tourists at most.Matsuyama seems to still be relatively tourist free. A bunch of Koreans, barely any Chinese or Western tourists. Might spend more time there next time around because I love that part of Japan.
