The Next US President is....

Hopefully in 2024 the Democrats will offer up a candidate who’s is either female, black or Latino. The US needs a change in direction. The Democrats need to step up to the plate.

P.S. Obama was a coconut politician so sadly can’t be included as a black president.

God bless America.

as long as the candidate is relatively smart and relatively honest , they should not care so much about gender and race... this focus on skin color and what’s between the legs is getting ridiculous sometimes

Prejudice much?
Maybe yes, I must admit Im not a specialist of what you call « trailer trash » in an obviously non-prejudiced way :D
For me its people who live in a trailer park, deal drugs and like Kid Rock ... but again I don’t know any on a personal basis , sadly :)

I believe Biden will select the choose person for the job. Karla Harris will be disappointed in that case.

Everyone knows you are a high society French guy living in a chateau in the dordogne so it’s understandable.

God bless Frenchie.

If only... :(

But I just checked Trailer Trash on Urban Dictionary and it seems the image I had was not too far off ... actually my American ex was secretely dating a guy like that during her wild teenage years. Drug dealer living in a trailer park. I found the stories fascinating .

I am not familiar with the Daily Beast, but that piece makes you scratch your head ... has journalism, medical practice, politics or all three sunk to new lows.
All 3 I guess...

I thought they were the ugly obese white people guarding confederate statues ...... the sort of characters that Clint Eastwood would hunt down in one of his detective movies, or Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey would deal with in True Detective. But it may be crossing the line to suggest they listen to Kid Rock.

Maybe but they watch Nascar (according to UD) so it’s kinda same :)

Taking the Trump Vaccine could severely limit your travel options ..... if not your life. ;)

I can understand the growing tinfoil segment that will believe the eventual vaccine was rushed, isn't safe, is some sort of CIA plot to sterilize half the country, etc., but I'm at the point where I'm willing to take the risk. The Moderna and Oxford vaccines have already been tested on thousands of people, will supposedly be tested on tens of thousands this and next month, and if it's continuously safe and nobody drops dead I'm inclined to just get in line for my two doses, book my tickets to HND and get ready to pull my pants down this winter.

Of course, if people's nuts start falling off or assholes start inverting next year we can just chalk it up to a lesson learned the hard way. In any event, China will probably have unleashed the next plague on the world by that time.

I had always hoped that Colin Powell or, better, Condi Rice would've been the first black President. Condi would've ticked off all the boxes and was just plain classy. I almost had the opportunity to host her some years ago for a political fundraiser, and she (unlike a lot of politicians) didn't even want to be paid for it, but the logistics, namely the security issues, couldn't be worked out in time.

The fact that the Democrats successfully touted Obama as the first "black" President is truly amazing. The asshole is a half-Kenyan who only met his deadbeat Kenyan father a couple times in his life right outside the airport and was otherwise raised by a bohemian, midwest communist lady, her millionaire international boyfriends and her wealthy midwest communist parents living in expensive houses and condos in wealthy Honolulu neighborhoods where he attended the most expensive, prestigious prep school in Hawaii and then the most expensive, prestigious universities in America. That's why I so loved listening to his bullshit speeches about the "black experience" in America and what a "struggle" it's been.

My friends in D.C. are whispering that Kamala Harris is going to be Biden's VP pick. That's going to be hilarious. Her own father can't stand her, and with her illustrious history of locking up black men and women for non-violent drug offenses, I'm sure the Bernie Bros and BLM idiots will be ticked pink. Maybe she can do that offensive skit again mocking Jamaicans and pretending to get high. That outta win over a ton of votes.

Here lies the problem for the illiberal Liberal Democrats. They are some of the most prejudice people on the planet.

White working class person who drinks beer and watches NASCAR is viewed as ‘scum’ by these ‘elites’. Violent black drug dealer should be hero-worshipped by the Liberals.

It’s not only the US who have the problem with illiberal Liberals. In the UK the Labour Party was crushed in the election last year largely because they sneered at the white working classes.

In Canada, the PM who portrays himself as ‘Mr Liberal’ is racist POS. I’m sure, growing up the only black people he met were the servants. How this little rich boy who thinks it is ‘ok’ to black up numerous times was elected in ‘tolerant’ Canada is surprising to say the least.

maybe precisely because they’re tolerant

Also this fuss about white people who should never ever ever have cosplayed as blacks is relatively recent ... I remember when I was a kid it happened often on TV or at parties and nobody assumed it was racist, it was certainly not meant to be. Reciprocally In the « Inconnus » trio (famous comedians in the 90s) there was a black guy who sometimes impersonated a white one and not even the staunchest far-rightists would have felt offended .

I personally am kind of tired of this left vs right bullshit. Both sides have valid arguments.

BLM and LGBTQ+ movements have valid concerns. Black folks are shot by police far more often white folks. LGBTQ+ people have been persecuted by right as being mentally ill, or something they'll grow out of. They have a right to be angry and a right for equal treatment. No one should be diminishing their fight for equal rights. Those not in either camp but are still left minded have the right to feel safe in sending their children to school and not have some psycho come in and shoot up the place. All their concerns are valid.

At the same time, those on the right feel threatened that their way of life is changing (and it is). Many of those who do not live in urban areas rely on hunting to supplement what's on their dinner table. Gun legislation without their input could be a detriment to their lifestyle. The threat (real or not) of them having their guns taken away, takes the ability for them to put food on the table. That their religious beliefs are being overridden by those who don't share their beliefs in government, and that they have no control over it. That their ability to choose what they want in their life is being taken away.

We have politicians and everyday folk unwilling to sit down at the table and work out what could be a middle ground. Instead, it's blame blame blame blame blame. I can't count the number of times on this forum I've seen unnecessary liberal bashing. It's stupid. The country will continue to falter until we citizens stand up and work together, but that won't happen because in the current environment it is "me me me me me me me...". It' my feelings, I don't care about yours. It's my beliefs I don't care about yours...

Stop being part of the problem and figure out how to be part of the solutions...

And that's basically how Trump won, which liberals still can't comprehend. I say Obama did the most to gin-up the kind of sentiment that made a Trump victory possible, with his sneering, elitist attitude and rhetoric for eight years. But that's all it took to turn traditionally blue/purple union states into Trump states.

A buddy of mine was a senior-level operative with the RNC based in D.C., and he was dispatched to primarily the midwest states to help run the Trump rallies. He, like most of the RNC operatives, passionately hated (still does hate him, actually) Trump but kept his head down and did his job. He was telling me that the rallies were utterly shocking, in that Trump was turning out tens of thousands of the very types of individuals that never vote Republican, if they even vote at all: white, middle-aged, non-college-educated blue-collar workers. Working-class white folks who were sick and tired of being told they were stupid fucking rednecks by Obama and other D.C. elites because they worked a 9-5, didn't have advanced degrees, went to church, owned a gun, etc. As he put it, anyone with a background in political science, numbers or national campaigning who actually came out and witnessed a midwest Trump rally would never believe the polls and popular assumptions again. And then you had Hillary and her "basket of deplorables" basically accusing anyone who even thought about supporting Trump as idiotic, racist white supremacists and that's all it took to swing states that the GOP always loses like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

And if you listen to the garbage they're spoon-feeding Joe Biden on the teleprompter, the party clearly hasn't learned its lesson. Trump this, systemic racism that, oil sucks, coal sucks, shut this down, shut that down, in-between his increasing napping fits. Biden has always done well with working-class voters in the midwest but that's going to change if they keep letting idiot millenial activists write the scripts and he keeps falling asleep or forgetting where he is (or what office he's running for).

But really, I'm not going to get riled up over the presidential election this year. Did that with Obama and it wasn't worth the stress. I've got much more at stake in the local municipal races, which are non-partisan, which means your democrat friends and republican friends can all work on the same operations and campaigns and not end up brawling with each other. All I really care about is getting that fucking vaccine and getting back to as much of a "normal" life as possible.

I can actually answer that one. He didn't win by virtue of being Justin Trudeau, he won by virtue of NOT being Stephen Harper (and not being part of the NDP). The Liberal Party could have run a pet rock and won that election, the country was sick of Harper at that point - his public approval rating had dropped to 23%.

come on Mr.FACTS, show us one speech , article, book , whatever where Obama said or wrote such things

(I think however , like a certain Donald Trump before he was elected, that he played too much golf , this elitist sport :))

The quote I was obviously referring to isn't hard to find and very well-known. During an event in San Francisco before the 2008 primary election, Obama made the following observation about small-town residents in Pennsylvania who have seen jobs disappear in their regions:

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Surely you can see how offensive that is toward small-town Americans, church-going folks or gun owners. His campaign team went into meltdown mode and he had to go on air apologizing for days. Now I said it was offensive, but don't take my word for it. Perhaps you'd take the word of your preferred 2016 presidential candidate?

"I was taken aback by the demeaning remarks Senator Obama made about people in small-town America. His remarks are elitist and out of touch." -- Hillary Clinton

I know like a lot of Europeans you still harbor some sort of man-crush on Obama, but sooner or later you'll have to come to terms with the reality that while he may be popular in Europe, Americans tired of him a long time ago. And where's the proof of this?

Donald Trump is president.

Hope that's enough FACT for you.

Apparently they were so sick and tired of this, a few months later they elected him to his first of two terms.

lol! Man crush on Obama? Yeah right...

You know what? i think he was too candid , but what he said is certainly true for many of those who voted Republican.

thats the whole part by the way... context matters:

« You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations »

Now if it’s your definition of offensive talk , then I guess over the past four years the definition has been expanded quite a lot :)

The problem of jobs disappearing has been a lot longer than 25 years. Try more like 35-40 years. These problems started in the 80s. The 90s compounded them. I grew up in the northeast. The area I grew up in had lots of production either in furniture or electronic assembly. By the time I graduated high school in the very early 90s these jobs were 90% gone. Most of them went to the south/midwest, and they didn't stay there for long. These were 9-5 mostly non-degree needing jobs. These jobs didn't come back.
