I had a disastrous first experience at soap, entirely due to my own stupidity. Sharing in case someone finds it helpful or entertaining.
Some backstory: I am Asian and speak conversational Japanese (roughly at the level where I get mistaken for a local sometimes). I typically try to do a lot of research before going anywhere. This was my third p4p experience, but my first time going to a soap. Previously, I've been to Fish Anma in Seoul (can review if people are interested) and reached out to an independent provider. Both solid experiences.
This starts with me walking into Segretario on a weekday evening. I'd looked at the reviews here and thought I would be relatively safe getting anyone that was available, even without a reservation. I say upfront that I'm a foreigner and they tell me to wait inside. It turns out they have no rooms available so I'm about to leave when one of the guys offers to bring me to Opera just down the street.
At Opera, I'm offered a choice between two girls. I'm not feeling either, so I tell the guy I'm going to take a walk around first. He offers to instead bring me some more photos from other stores he works at - Emerald Emperor and Excellent Club Danshaku. I'm curious so I say ok.
He brings me 3 photos. I explain I'm looking for someone that can take the lead, and he says "They can all take the lead as girls working at high-end shops". I decide to take the chance on his recommendation. He goes out to confirm the nomination, but comes back a bit later apologizing that someone else just booked the same girl. Undeterred, I choose Ran from Emerald Emperor and fork over the 90k. I jokingly tell him that I'm putting my faith in him here and he smiles back before we start talking about my job here and how long I'll be in Japan. I'm brought to the Emerald Emperor building across the street and get put in the waiting room.
The red flags start as soon as I see Ran. She looks absolutely nothing like her picture. Still cute, but nothing too special. Her body is slender, but there's a bit of flab on the stomach.
I enter the room. It's pretty cramped and the walls look faded and old. Ran looks disinterested and doesn't start with any service or touching. I try to break the ice saying this is my first soap and I'll be in her care, but she replies with only a "Ah, I'd be nervous too" and nothing else. Dead silence.
She tells me to get in the bath while she prepares a seat and some towels. I actually enjoy the hot water after a whole day of walking. But after some minutes of soaking I notice that Ran is still outside the bath, silently soaking some towels (?) or doing something to prepare a stool. When she does get in, she sits next to me curled up and covering her chest. I touch her a bit but she's still covering herself and I don't want to force her. More dead silence.
Occasionally I will bring up a topic but it always dies out after a response or two. Ran keeps asking me to wait a bit so we stay sitting in the bath like this for a solid 15 minutes. No clue what was going on here, if she's stalling for time or if she was actually waiting for the bath to fill up for some reason (it was only 2/3 full).
At this point I am dying inside and know something is very wrong, but I find the will to press on. We move to the mat and she's clumsy and inexperienced. She keeps trying to use her breasts to wash me but because she isn't leaning in enough they only end up mildly grazing me. Overall, the mat play actually still felt decent, but not nearly as good as I thought it would.
We move to HJ to get me hard. The HJ wasn't too bad, but after a while I requested we start CBJ (I actually prefer this over BBBJ). Unfortunately, Ran's technique is the worst I've had. Teeth on the bottom and very shallow, even though my size is completely average. I'm usually struggling not to finish during BJs, but this time I was struggling to stay hard. I give up and ask to move to the bed, where I'm able to finish.
The rest of the time was spent making some small talk. She has an interest in American pop and plays the guitar. She still doesn't initiate any conversation and it's up to me to start every topic. With 25 minutes left, I start asking to go for round 2, but she's hesitant. Not only that, her phone alarm starts ringing and she says "Oh there's only 10 minutes left" even though there's literally a piece of paper on the table with the end time and it's 25 minutes away. Despite all this I do manage to finish a second time.
We say goodbye and she thanks me for coming. I get dropped off at a nearby station and I'm left to wonder what life choices I made to get here.

As mentioned at the start, I don't fault anyone other than myself for this experience. I had every chance to back out and reconsider and I didn't take any of them. I'm going to try to take a positive outlook here and say that it can only get better from here on (hopefully this is true…)

I think I learned some key lessons with this:
- I didn't know that the year-end period was the apparently the busiest one. I was told people get their bonuses this month and that's why things get busy. I thought that going on a weekday afternoon there would be lots of availability.
- I trusted touts instead of sticking to the plan.
- I falsely assumed I could get good service walking in without a reservation to my first ever soap.
- I chose someone without confirming anything about them other than the picture. I learned afterwards that Ran is a newcomer to this store (maybe the industry in general?). I didn't want to just sit there with the tout staring at me looking up reviews for the girl, but if I'd known Ran was a newcomer I'd have never chose her.
As mentioned at the start, I don't fault anyone other than myself for this experience. I had every chance to back out and reconsider and I didn't take any of them. I'm going to try to take a positive outlook here and say that it can only get better from here on (hopefully this is true…)
