Just to play the devil's advocate for a second, this guy could just say anything.
This is the country that immediately mocked and slut shamed Melania. It seems that they are rather out to mock Trump than to have a good relationship with him.

I don't find it unbelievable that Russia had a hand in the election, but this statement could just as well be bluff.

"Certain forces" obviously means the will of the people, he's just talking about democracy folks.

Joking aside, why would they show their hand like this? If anything it's out there to undermine his authority (or boost a domestic audience).

I would say he's probably doing it to show strength domestically, since Ukraine is doing pretty well at bloodying his nose. He needs to project some strength, so pretending he got Trump elected certainly fits.

100%. I actually believe Russia did support Donald in 2016, and probably in 2024 too.

But their goal is to destabilize us. That means they'll say whatever causes consternation in either group and whichever causes infighting in America.

OK. This is not directly related to the topic of US Election, but it is about a North European lady.
Kaja Kallas from Estionia (first female prime minister of Estonia) will soon be confirmed to succeed Borrell as foreign policy chief of the EU.
This gives me hope: consistent about defending against Russia, North European power lady, glass ceiling breaking lady from North Europe. My hero. Not Trump.

Hopefully more Euro-zone countries start separating themselves from the US, otherwise the US will continue to drag the world down.

I wonder how many federal employees who voted for Trump will end up losing their jobs because of Elon Musk's government efficiency plans. Just look at how many people he laid off at X/Twitter.

On the bright side, I made quite a bit of money since the election buying stocks of the companies owned by Musk and Thiel and the ones that provide private detention facilities. Don't wanna name the companies cause I'm not sure if the forum has rules against that…

What is next? Maybe MTG Marjorie Taylor Greene as treasury secretary? Has good qualifications and an equal match to Janet Yellen and Jerome Powell.

Nobody should be surprised by pretty much anything anymore. It is not like people didn't know what they were voting for, this indeed is his second term. So anyone who can vote in the US elections, enjoy your ride, you deserved it!

The only worry I have is how bad all this popcorn is for my health, four years is a long time.

It is going to end with Trump and Musk gutting government institutions to the point that the USA will go back to feudalism in a few years. That will give the likes of Israel, Russia, and China license to act even more like dicks so it won't just be Americans living through the apocalypse - the rest of us will all get to enjoy it too! Meanwhile Trump will still continue shitting himself and painting himself orange, and Musk will continue to be the world's richest loser. Still though, at least Amerrican voters won't be worrying about the price of eggs - in a barter economy eggs won't have a fixed price.

That's not really fair to the millions of us who did vote but not for the orange clown. It's the other side who deserves it. Either for being dumb enough to vote for him or for staying home/vote for 3rd party as a "protest".

Also, do not think you are completely isolated from all this. Honestly I hear people saying they will move out of the country and all that, but to me it seems this MFer can actually do serious damage all around the world with his policies. I fear for Ukraine and Taiwan first but then Korea and Japan are next. I'm not saying full scale war, but China can seriously disrupt things in the region if left unchecked.

Or well…maybe this is a good thing in a dark way. Kennedy did say that he will make vaccines optional rather than banning or replacing them, so yes…a lot of idiots who think they'll become more tinfoiled than they already are getting a flu vaccine are going to die painful deaths.Their progeny will die painfully too.

And I feel horrible for people who will be victims in this Brave New Quack World, but maybe natural selection will be the necessary evil here to rebalance common sense among folks in our population.

Actually, make that two things. Living here in cash-is-king Japan, I hadn't even heard of Venmo until his scandal about allegedly paying an underaged girl for sex broke.

Seriously, he looks arrogant. Sounds sleazy, but not in a good way.
