What’s the best steakhouse in Tokyo?

Depending on what kind of steak you like as well as atmosphere...
.
The three that I use are :

Ruth's Chris - http://ruthschris.co.jp/
Alexanders - http://alexanderssteakhouse.jp/
37 Steakhouse - http://www.37steakhouse.com/

How is the atmosphere? Say you want to impress a lady? I’ve heard of both but I, s of yet, have not had the opportunity to visit either of the three. 37 looks very nice. Could you go be me your opinion on which would be great for an old man and a 20 something to dine at? She was in New York and wants to eat a juicy steak. Which one is would you recommend in terms of quality of food?

So here's my humble feedback... .

1) Ruth's Chris - A very good static menu with good quality of meat. The atmosphere is low-light, it's on the 1st floor of an office building, so the views aren't spectacular but it's a upscale place, so the service is pretty good. I'm disappointed that people show up in casual clothes while most people are wearing something appropriate for such a place. I've seen families, couples and plenty of upscale business men there in the evening dinner hours.

2) 37 Steak House - This place is kind of unique - I've been here more often for business dinners and not dates. But, if I was going to take a girl here, I'd take her to the Oak Door bar across the street first and then move over to the 37 Steakhouse.

3) Alexanders - I've been here only once since it's fairly new. It has a good atmosphere with a nice view if you get good seats. The steaks are on-par with the other 2 above but I'd probably go back just for the view.

If I want a quiet one on one date with a nice girl who has sensible dress standards - I'd take her to Ruth's Chris with a reservation ahead of time. (They can speak English) Alexanders would probably be a #2 and 37 Steakhouse a 3rd -- only because I'm used to business dinners there.

The other place I forgot to mention was The New York Grill at the Park Hyatt -- this is also a great place, but not a specialty for steaks. The bar combined with the restaurant is a powerful combo with a great view. https://tokyo.park.hyatt.com/en/hotel/dining/NewYorkGrill.html

Wow, how did I miss this thread. I love a good steak dinner.

The Ruth's Chris I've been to and liked. It's more of a traditional feel if that makes any sense. Good place to take a lady but somehow I feel like a 20 something girl would want something flashier?

I took a girl in her 20's one time and she was impressed - no one had ever bothered to take her anywhere classy.

Good to hear! I’ve been to the Oak Door and the Park Hyatt. Two Rooms is another place I’m familiar with. Well, you’ve made my decision a little easier. Thank you for taking the time to advise me.

We had great service at NY Grill, we also spent a fortune. Just check the prices first, you are unlikely to get any change out of 50,000 yen for a couple. One problem with the NY Grill is they try to get rid of you pretty quickly after your meal. If you want to stay for a drink after you'll have to move to the bar area and there's seating charge something like 3000yen(?).

Yeah I realized just now how expensive steak is. Lol. But not as expensive as Joel Robuchon

Two Rooms is a great lunch place for a Sunday, followed by some pillow time. ;)

I’ll have to remember that about two rooms. I’ve gotten around but not to steak places unless they were national icons like in Gotanda.

If I go out I usually go to beer gardens with the younger type but I found someone that is a big meat eater!

The Outback Steakhouse is kind of kitsch but that's popular with a lot of Japanese. The food is good quality for a family restaurant style chain, nothing fantastic but no complaints either. A big bonus is if you're Australian, the menu is hilarious; it's just American diner food prefixed with random Australian town names.

I’ve gotten to text every day and meet two or three times a week so now it’s time to use food porn to get to my goal. Lol. 7-11 Nampa and my bad Japanese is going to get me off to a good end of the year I hope!

Outback is nice but I’m looking for the panty melting feeling. Lol
I'm just suggesting know your "mark". A girl from Saitama will be very impressed with the fancy Ikebukuro Outback. The Roppongi Outback is seriously posh! ;)

Really? Never been to the Ikebukuro Outback. I’ve been to one in Shibuya.

I am partial to the rib eye at Wolfgang.
If one were to settle for Outback, might as well take it down a very small notch to Royal Host for your meat. Which is an interesting diversion because if one were to go that route, there is then Anna Millers as a similar option. And now we have truly come full circle because there are some fine breasts and thighs to be found there. But alas those are more closely affiliated with poultry and the fine ladies at Anna’s than slabs from the bovine. Perhaps I digress from topic. :(

Wolfgang puts so much butter and macadamia oil on their steaks that it makes you almost not notice that they aren't that great. The rib eye is the best cut they have, but I'd rather pay for a slab of wagyu sirloin at the supermarket at half the price.

I’ll keep that in mind, but I know my “mark”. Lol
I'm poking fun at girls from Saitama ....
I thought you knew I dated a Saitama somehow. Lol I was like how did he know that. But this time I picked up an interesting Tokyoite who loves meat. We went to Barbacoa. She ate her meat and more.
Okay so I’ve got some options and I’d like thank everyone for giving me some advice on steakhouses and their highlights. I’ll tell ya how it went after I go out.
