But for those of you who have been doing this a while and have or had girlfriends or wives, do you think the best sex you ever had was with someone you paid for? Or was it with someone you had a real romantic relationship with? I'm asking on a deeper overall satisfaction level, because I know it can be both physical and emotional.

I my case the best sex I ever had was a short term relationship with a woman I dated for about 8 months.
And I think the reason was not because she was super sexy, or had good technique, or even the amount/frequency. But I felt with her, more than any other woman I've had sexual relations with, that I could tell that she really enjoyed having sex with me, and wanted it with a passion. There was some primal instinct that she brought out of me and made me really feel masculine (and I'm not an alpha male type). I know you are thinking, yeah, everyone feels like that the first few months with a new partner. But with her it seemed like the lovemaking got better as time went on. We had to break up for complicated and unfortunate reasons. And I still often think about how strong a sexual connection we had. And I guess miss that.

I'd like to answer your interesting question but find that I can't do so in any meaningful and honest way. Sex just seems too multi-dimensional to me; different times were "the best" in different ways, and I don't know how to compare those ways in any form that makes sense to me. It would be like asking what was the best day of my life; there are too many different ways for a day to be great for the question to make sense imo.

In my case there is also the issue of age and memory. It is damn hard for me to compare sexual experiences I had this week with ones I had in the late 1960s in any sensible way.

The best answer I can give is that I have had peak sexual experiences in p4p, romantic and non-romantic np4p situations, and they were peak in different senses.
