Actually, the ones linked to HK’s famous names : Mandarin-Oriental, Peninsula and Shangri-La.
Better than the US-linked (Hyatt etc) and much much better than the traditional Japanese ones (Imperial, Okura, New Otani - although Palace now is good but never saw their rooms)

Is The Okura lady friendly since renovation? I was planning to stay there late April, but that won't be happening now.

I don’t see why you could not bring or invite ladies there. Actually it looks exactly like BEFORE the renovation , just with new materials. And their floors numbering is as confusing as before

Yes, we've had reports that it's friendly for visitors.

Shinagawa Strings - exactly the opposite, don't stay there.

A former colleague working at Microsoft mentioned that one of their visiting execs staying at the Strings tried to have a girl up, and they both blocked the girl and lodged a complaint with Microsoft.

Yes but you certainly work for a much more reputable firm than Microsoft, and the gigolo you called was very discreet :)

You've been lucky then, there have been constant problems with people going there over the years.

Enjoyed staying at the Conrad a few years ago.
Dropped a ton of coin in the restaurants there.

I personally like the Ritz in midtown a lot.

But if money is no object, the Aman is far and away the nicest. I don’t even think it’s close.

true, the Ritz-Carlton is great too . If I remember well its where our buddy @oLUXo has fun when he’s in Tokyo
As for Aman I don’t know the rooms , I love the food at their restaurant Arva, but I think they went a bit over the top with this cavernous lobby floor. Ceiling too high, atmosphere a bit cold-ish. But its just my opinion.

Dai-ichi Hotel Annex - it's a respectable hotel. Some years ago stayed there on business; used their car service for a week's worth of one-on-one meetings; more than one female friend visited me there. Afterward, I posted a trip report to ISG - as this was before TAG was launched ...

Anecdotally, everything always seems to be wide open at The Imperial Hotel, with Sugar Babies, mistresses, Secret Girlfriends and escorts discreetly coming and going. Saturday 9:00 am-ish is Prime Eye Candy time ...

If I had to choose between hilton's odaiba terrace suite for $550-750 and one of aman's $2-3k USD suites I can't see Aman being worth *that* much more

Well if you don’t need to be close to the center then yes, go for the Hilton Daiba . Great views too.

The Capitol is really nice since it has been renovated
I like the rooms which have the bathroom/toilets part sort of in the middle and you have corridors all around it. Feels more spacious and you can play at chasing the girl without bumping into walls (I was drunk so still bumped into walls though)

My favorite is the RC or the Mandarin Oriental. In 2023, there will be a new hotel in Ginza by Bvlgari. That should be nice!

...and the lady butlers on the Imperial floors bowing and remotely opening the (automatic) doors accessing the lifts to let go japanese couples (him around 80s, her around 18 in a pretty silk kimono ;))

That’s surprising. Elevators do require key cards to operate, but I would always sneak in with other guests as if I had booked a room there :D A valid explanation could be that @Anna Summer and I never encountered problems simply because we are foreigners and receptionists assumed we are guests staying at the hotel.
If you stay at Shinagawa Strings, meet your lady on the ground floor of the building complex. (These complex buildings have leisure & shopping facilities on the ground floor, offices on the bottom half of the building and top floor are usually reserved for hotel area.)

This topic has been discussed before many times, and nowadays I’m in quarantine but here are my top favs:

Winners: Aman (amazing floor heated bathrooms with a city view) and Andaz
Runner ups: Peninsula, Park Hyatt, Shangri La, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz Carlton, Grand Hyatt, The Prince Gallery (transparent bathrooms ;) )

Yes! Victoria’s Secret models stay there too. I mean back in the good old days, before the pandemic.
