Yoshiwara Soapland Spreadsheet and Discussion Thread (Updated December 2024)

Do you guys think it would be weird to just walk around and chat with the touts for a few hours to get info? There are so many places that have little/no info on TAG and frankly I don't trust the Japanese reviews so this is my current plan to get more info. I speak Japanese fluently btw.

By all means this is a great thing, and with your ability yes it proves helpful.

Just be aware that you're more likely to find yourself at the end of a scam the more secretive-looking or hush-hush it gets in conversation. From that point it's not Japanese fluency that helps you but knowing how to lower your risks of getting screwed and properly backing out before you end up getting followed to an ATM by two muscular Nigerians.

I thought that only happens in Kabukicho and Roppongi lol. When I was walking around Yoshiwara at night last November, it was very quiet. Didn't even see many touts, just tenchos standing outside their front doors because they have nothing better to do I guess.

But thanks, I will be on the lookout for secretive dealings. I'll just straight up ask the guys which business they're affiliated with.

Personally, if I hadn't paid already I'd have walked out. What an insulting and frankly, racist policy. Wish people would stop patronizing shops like this.
I'm okay paying gaijin tax.
I'm not okay getting worse/limited service.

Surely a good way to discover new things, but don't expect more honesty than with the Japanese reviews.
If a tout is not affiliated with a specific shop, they will take you to an information booth, ask your budget and give you options of available girls from various shop.
Worst scam I have heard of was actually to a Japanese guy, the tout made him pay once at the information booth and then he was asked to pay again at the soapland and he did. The kicker is that the guy was an ex cop from another city, lol.

But also often they offer high class shop girls at a discounted rate if it's quiet. So don't expect you will have to pay more because you use a tout, they can actually fix a rate within your budget for you.

That said, they will probably not be too pleased if you just ask around for information and don't pick any girl.

And as for advice on girls, I doubt the non affiliated touts know what the girls really look like, and the shop staff guys may very well not be honest with you about looks and service level.

I mean sure, but there are definitely places where you can replace the word "Nigerians" with "dudes in suits" and the logic still applies.

Seriously, no matter how fluent you are do not fuck with this culture. It will fucking destroy you if you don't read carefully between the lines.

Hopefully they won't be muscular.
Kidding, but best of luck anyways.

Alright now you guys are scaring me. Apparently there's ex cops looking for easy prey and yakuza lurking about waiting to take care of noisy sons of bitches (me). Perhaps I'll just take another look at CH...

Thanks! Is that a good district that I should look into?
If you want to go to a soapland, then sure.
That would be the only reason to go there. (See first post of this thread)

Has anyone seen Akari at Club39? (I'm guessing that's her name, my VPN died and she's @aoyama_akari on twitter)

Edit: confirmed with her that she's comfortable using translator apps. What do y'all use? Google translate is kind of cumbersome

Is there a soapland in yoshiwara or anywhere close where you can choose girls in person not through pictures?

Not in Yoshiwara but Happy Bridge in Kawasaki have a magic mirror you can see the girls through.
