How do you let a girl into your love hotel room?

I've been looking at some guides at how to use love hotels and I think I get the gist of it. But the one thing that confused me is that a guide I read mentioned that unless a key is provided, the door locks when you enter and you can only unlock it again when you check out.

So how does it work here? How do I get the door when the girl arrives? Or do I have to wait for her to arrive to check in too?

I'm thinking of either Perrier, Forsion, or J-Mex.

I recently went to one, and I think you have to pay to open the door.
Not sure what would happen if you put some doorstopper to stop it closing then wait for the girl...(staff will get angry?)
Seems silly to pay the LH fee twice.

Think you can meet in lobby then check in together.
...or use room with key if you want to check in first.

I know there are nice LH that use key.

I saw a YouTube video where a female and her gay friend were giving a lh tutorial and it was a room that locked and you get out when you pay. She wanted to get something to drink and just made a call at the reception to open the door. Maybe if you tell them ahead of time that you are expecting a guest they will just unlock it for you when she arrives

You mean like for P4P? You just get in to the room early, let her know the number and she'll tell the staff at the door. They'll let her up no problem. Then she'll just knock or ring the bell on the room when she arrives.

I've never been at one that's so fancy they have automatic locks - almost all the ones in the major LH districts (Kabukicho, Dogenzaka, etc) just pass you a key when you check in.

It’s been rough indeed to find enough Reese’s Pieces in Japan to lay a trail from the lobby to my room. Some bit of a risk though as the last one came at me with a giant pulsating finger I wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with and kept trying to get at my iPhone to call home. :greyalien:

In one of the newer places with an auto locking door, you just have to call the front desk and ask them to unlock it.

Like other people said, you tell the staff you're expecting someone, then you tell her the room number and when she'll arrive she'll tell the staff and they'll unlock the door.
If for some reason the door is locked then you call the front and ask them to open it.

Well, thanks for all the helpful replies, including the sarcastic ones that gave me a good laugh anyway.

FR coming up. Wish I could say it was positive but sadly my very first writeup here won't be.

Also if i'm right, forsion, j mex and perrier dont have auto locks.
You pay up front and lock the door in your room yourself. A delivery health girl should still mention to which room she's going to the reception (and the girls usually know that) and you should mention that a guest will come when you check in, but i dont think the front controls the room locks there.

As an FYI. Hotel xo in Shinjuku is reviewed well here and has Autolocking door. If you don’t have enough command of the language to call to get the door unlocked, I advise you don’t check in alone. This applies to the other hotels where they have locking doors. However u don’t always know which hotel have auto locks and which ones don’t.

Maybe you can get a clue by seeing if there is someone in the front desk.

Just to add a few cents here.

A really annoying scenario is when you end up in a hotel with no 'proper' front desk and autolock rooms.

You can't let the hotel know that you are planning to have company...

So when you get into the room, call up the reception (or help desk whatever) and ask them to unlock it as early as possible.

The worst thing that can happen when your girl arrives and knocks on the door is you can't get it unlocked because the reception isn't picking up.

Making your girl wait and having to talk THROUGH a door isn't exactly the smoothest start lol.
