In the girls' profiles.. why do they list blood types? Does that really matter?
 
It's an old superstition similar to star signs.

Each type is supposed to have a specific personality trait.

A are serious and stubborn, also honest and tidy.
B are self centered and uncooperative, also creative and passionate.
O are insensitive and lazy, but easygoing and natural leaders.
AB are supposedly prone to being two faced, but tend to be talented.

Yeah, many of the people writing those predictions are very good. Take any of them and regardless you will find things that make you go "yeah, that's me". :D

The blood type thing is not even that old. It was made up less than 100 years ago. Still the Japanese people I have talked are always surprised to hear they are the only nation that actually believes it; zodiac is much more widely spread form of superstition.

If you have to ask you haven’t been in Japan long enough. I think anytime that I go out with Japanese colleagues, smoehow blood type comes out in the conversation. It has to do with personality and who is compatible with who. After close to 20 years living here I still don’t understand.

What is weird to me is that they apparently have so much variety, despite being a very homogeneous people. In France where we are a mixed bunch for thousands years of wars , invasions, immigration etc I think people are mostly A so you cant do much in terms of matching and psychanalyzing based on that.

I remember caring about this once maybe 20 years ago but then I finished my beer and had to order another and forgot all about it. There are a whole lot of other more important things to think about.

So you're telling me there are basically four types of people in Japan? :D

I don't really hear a lot of blood type talk anymore, maybe it's something that's limited to Japanese circles. I heard some crazy scientist came up with a hypothesis for the correlation between blood types and personalities which was quickly dismissed. But we need to bully someone, so why not bully type B "the loner" who will drag down the perfect harmony of the group?

I don't think those girls are 100% honest with the shown blood type because some people assume each blood type has certain personality, like @Sudsy said.
One of my ex colleagues cares about it too much. She was looking for a boyfriend fro long time and finally she was asked by one of our clients for a date; I am talking about regular office job, non escort related.
She said her first date with him went great but her only concern was his blood type. Seriously?
Also at the same office work, I was having some trouble to work with one of my bosses at that time so I asked his boss for an advice. He said "Well, you know, he is typical blood type B" ....Seriously???

I agree, pure nonsense. I can’t stand those who believe in such irrational categorizations of people. Also I can’t stand the Geminis, they’re full of shit. :D

I've heard it was from Nazi Germany. Supposedly super soldiers would have a certain blood type. The Japanese being allies picked up on some of this info and it became pop culture somehow. I could be wrong though.
 
It actually originated in Japan in the 1920s.

Someone has published a book in English about what diet to follow, depending on your blood type. A friend of mine tried to explain it to me and spouted a lot of pseudo-scientific nonsense. My guess is that this book was inspired by the Japanese blood-type superstitions.
 
Well, it's so that if you nose bleed too much from just looking at the girl (or during whatever naughty thing you are doing to the girl) and require immediate blood transfusion you will be safe as long as you book the girl with compatible blood type.
