This I agree 100%. I think the problem is not asking ‘Are you’re free now’, the problem is not giving a proper introduction and the required info.

Maybe you could clarify on your ad Yuriko, that last appointment is 22:00 and that incurs an additional 5,000JPY fee but no appointments accepted after that time. Although you say til 23:00 which could be understood as you accept an appointment at 23:00, but Me Thinks that is not accurate (Weekday or Weekend)..
Of course it won't get rid of the late night inquiries 100% it could potentially help reduce them - (however, that being said, some may have the thinking of what @warubuta says... when little brother needs attention, he wants attention, never seen a watch on a cock and doubt that one eye could read a watch that well anyway :D )

Customs are also different in different countries. In Europe short notice appointments are very common. You market mainly to foreigners, so a lot of guys might be used to this.

Even in Tokyo there are enough providers who work that way.

Your customers won't change. The guys you complain about very likely never read this thread. If it bothers you too much, you have to change how you organize/manage this line of work. Ask to put date/time and length of appointment in the title and you can easily sort as an example.

As warubuta pointed out you are looking at this form the provider perspective only, not the client. If you are hungry at the middle of the night and a restaurants doors are open and then you walk inside see no customers and ask "Are you open?" is that rude?
No its just an honest question for a customer looking to get service and get something to eat.

While some might be jerks, some are just honestly wondering if you are free to work. As mentioned listing your work hours should deal with most of them (the rest can be ignored because you've already answered their question by posting your hours).

As a side noted. I've had providers say they are available 24/7 and then get upset because I asked if they would be free in 1 or 2 hours (me giving them time to get prepared, shower etc) and then go cold when it was time to meet. so not every guy that ask that question is a a-hole. So guys ask just to see if you are serious about your hours. because not everyone is. "available 1-7" for some providers means 1-7 and for others means 1-3 or 2-5 depending on what i'm doing, which as a paying customer means you are not available from 1-7. these same rules would apply to any other business btw.

Yeah are you are looking at it only from the customer’s perspective. There is always a LOT of monger perspective in forums like this so its really good that you can see how this makes the lady feel.
Nobody here has written in their ad that they are available 24/7. You know the trains stop after 24.00 in Tokyo.

I have gotten some “last minute” inquiries recently and have actually replied to them but nothing came out of it and most did not reply back to my reply at all. So i’m tempted not to anser them.

I would still be open for last minutes that actually have some information about what and where and who they are in their emails. But i do want clients who are really interested in meeting specifically ME and not just anyone who can take care of their sudden urge. Sure. I know that for some guys its very hard to get in the mood at a presceduled time and that things work much better if they are already in such a mood and can get a quick fix, but imo if you are really interested in meeting someone you take your time to plan together.

I guess even someone says "24/7" she has her schedule for each day, and unfortunately time you mentioned she wasn't available. It happens. Because, she doesn't have the same schedule as yours.

For clients side, there is still a "choice" by several girls, some other girls might be free, but unlikely if it's after midnight.

I guess it depends on the amount of info in the request?

If a total random just says ‘are you free now’ maybe the provider is free but she doesnt know for how long, where, etc. probably depends on time of day too. For example if its at 11pm on a friday, probably a drunk horny dude who just spammed 12 escorts and is likely to be a no show. If its at 2pm on a tuesday, more likely to be someone bored and horny at work who has a better chance if actually showing up.

I understand its peobably stressful and annoying to get these kinds of messages - i get similar stuff at my work. You dont want to indulge time-wasters but at the same time you dont want to come across as unapproachable with a short answer.

Alot of assumptions there lol. I never said I contacted a provided after midnight (in fact it was during the day) lol. I feel as if you've both have missed my point. The example I mentioned was to show that as a customer I may ask if you are available HOURS before hand just to insure our schedules DO match. Not to imply that you should drop eveything at the drop of a dime and serve me. And even when doing this to be considerate to the provider, i've had them agree on times and no-show and such. This may be the reason some guys DONT try to set up things in advance. Not me personally thou.

My other point was that a client just asking if you are available is a NORMAL PART OF BUSINESS. To get annoyed/upset about this is pointless and counter productive as a freelancer. Do you think a freelance carpenter gets upset when someone calls him at the middle of the night needing their stairs fixed? Not if he is a professional. He would just explain he is not available and if the client really wants his work to schedule another time at which he is.

I also agreed with solutions to your problem. List your business hours (dont want questions during the day make it clear you are not ever available and dont answer request during those hours), ignore the request, and/or reply with a short but polite answer.
