Many questions regarding dating life in Japan

Military dudes are hardly broke... they can get mad benefits. They can take their Japanese wife and haafu kids back to the states and get a VA loan for a house, free health care for the whole family, a good chunk of their income is tax exempt, discounted shopping on base, space-A travel, GI...

    Let’s ranking!

I'm sure you would look at a woman differently if she's in a short dress vs. if she's wearing a ski outfit.

    Let’s ranking!

Guys have surprisingly diverse preferences, as you can tell from the number of categories on porn sites. Think of any type of woman, and there has been at least one porn video made about that type of woman, which means someone wants to jack off to that type of woman...

    Let’s ranking!

The women actually ranked themselves, which makes this weirder. It would be more interesting to see how other women ranked the women.

Many questions regarding dating life in Japan

I agree with this statement, but a man who could only date neurotic ugly fat women in the US would easily be able to find a woman in Japan who only checks one of those boxes, and with some work, might be able to land a woman who checks none of them. In other words, if you aren't completely...

    What is love for you?

Mehhhhh.... any kind of love is fleeting. Family relationships often become very toxic or fall apart completely. Dogs are great but they don't live nearly as long as humans and, at the end of the day, their attitude comes from Pavlovian conditioning and may well go away if they stop getting...

So what's with the myth that Japanese women like gaijin?

IME, Japanese women in their 20s tend to be pretty introverted and suspicious, and don't usually date outside of organized circles like their college, workplace, friends' parties, etc. To be fair this is probably mainly because most Japanese men are incredibly age-ist and focus all of their...

Roppongi at 12:30 am is a turkey shoot. Maybe you aren't staying out long enough?

Japanese Women and Masculine Western Men/Men Over 30

As a 30ish whitey I have found that Japanese girls overestimate my age by 5-10 years, while Chinese girls guess it exactly.

    Marriage, a bad idea

I find that 90% of the marriage game is maintaining your wife's respect for you. Japanese women are, for the most part, totally pre-feminist, and they expect to have a man who is strong, positive and in charge. (Many Japanese men are not like this. That is likely to be a major reason why your...

    being on the chubby side

As always, YMMV. Outright had my hand down the back of a lady's jeans in a bar in Roppongi once (with her implicit consent, while we were having a conversation). Primed her well before we had even gotten in a cab to go to the LH. Nobody seemed to notice or care.

    Marriage, a bad idea

While this is objectively good advice, I think it's impossible for anyone to know what they and their partner will think of each other in 5 years -- particularly if they have different cultural backgrounds and can't pick up as easily on each other's more subtle cues.

    Marriage, a bad idea

Actually, if you are all about the money, the US is better because an ex-spouse can have their wages garnished or be thrown in jail for not paying child support. This is not the case in Japan, where child support is very easily dodged so long as you aren't trying to sell real estate (in which...

    Marriage, a bad idea

Unfortunately, they don't have joint custody in Japan, and visitation rights, if given at all, are usually something like an hour a month at a lawyer's office somewhere. So the choice comes down to effectively having one parent versus having two parents that hate each other, a much tougher call.
